MANY WHO read this piece will probably say I'm being excessively cynical.
I plead guilty. But merely because they're right doesn't mean that I'm wrong. So here goes: I strongly suspect that President Obama's speech at Notre Dame's commencement was an attempt to separate Catholics from the teachings of their church....
In the absence of any rational explanation for wanting the debate to go on, and excluding an irrational one, I'm ultimately led to a rational, if sinister, motivation on the president's part.

The Teleprompter got 55% of the Catholic vote. Does he want more?
With ND's "Father" Jenkins there applauding, enabling, giggling, hugging, and oozing Obamamania.
Doesn’t surprise me. Divide and conquer tactics started with the Devil back in the Garden of Eden.
Why doesn't he join the Episcopal Church, or Tiller's Lutheran Church? He'd be more at home there.
Well, duh.
"Catholic" politicians like Kennedy, Pelosi and Leahy have been working at that for decades.
They want the power of the Catholic Church, which they perceive to have a usefulness for political activism, creating political consensus, and for the educational institutions and buildings. Whatever can be said on behalf of the ECUSA, it has neither the numbers nor the clout to be taken very seriously by sufficient numbers of people to be of political interest to those who have already seized control of important Catholic property. Nice golf courses and beachfront Bermuda condos though.

"they [the Weather Underground] employed revolutionary jargon, advocated armed struggle and black liberation and began bombing buildings, taking responsibility for at least 20 attacks. Estimates of their number ranged at times from several dozen to several hundred."

Obama's Church: Gospel of Hate
Kathy Shaidle, FrontPageMag.com
Monday, April 07, 2008
In March of 2007, FOX News host Sean Hannity had engaged Obamas pastor in a heated interview about his Churchs teachings. For many viewers, the ensuing shouting match was their first exposure to "Black Liberation Theology"...
Like the pro-communist Liberation Theology that swept Central America in the 1980s and was repeatedly condemned by Pope John Paul II, Black Liberation Theology combines warmed-over 1960s vintage Marxism with carefully distorted biblical passages. However, in contrast to traditional Marxism, it emphasizes race rather than class. The Christian notion of "salvation" in the afterlife is superseded by "liberation" on earth, courtesy of the establishment of a socialist utopia.

Catholics for Marx [Liberation Theology]
By Fr. Robert Sirico
FrontPageMagazine.com | Thursday, June 03, 2004
In the days when the Superpowers were locked in a Cold War, Latin America seethed with revolution, and millions lived behind an iron curtain, a group of theologians concocted a novel idea within the history of Christianity. They proposed to combine the teachings of Jesus with the teachings of Marx as a way of justifying violent revolution to overthrow the economics of capitalism.
The Gospels were re-rendered not as doctrine impacting on the human soul but rather as windows into the historical dialectic of class struggle. These "liberation theologians" saw every biblical criticism of the rich as a mandate to expropriate the expropriating owners of capital, and every expression of compassion for the poor as a call for an uprising by the proletarian class of peasants and workers.

I believe the reason Obama is beginning this fight is because the Democrats are slowly losing the fight for Catholics. Popes JPII and BXVI have ever so slowly been changing the direction. BXVI will win this fight, but it will be long and bloody.
There are a number of parents at my daughters school/parish that have 0’s bumper stickers. They all have creepy smiles. I literally want to puke when I see them.
As in brainwashed? My "Catholic" family all voted for Obamanation. God will judge.
They'd better hurry up.
So then because you are lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will spew you out of my mouth. Revelation 3:16
