Many of Americans are not aware of basic bankruptcy law. GM can file in any court district in which it has an office. However, some districts are special. NJ, NY, MI, and DE are areas where there is NO CAP on lawyer fees.
If the current administration is serious about saving the tax payers money, they will force GM to file in a place where the lawyers are capped
My personal bet is NY
bah....typos...they annoy me
NY is what I heard on the radio on the way to work. At 8 ET.
Unlimited lawyer fees then.... The raping of America continues
Good job Obami....way to protect and defend
saving tax payer money? HA! I think we’ve seen Buttcrack have no concern about saving tax payers ANY MONEY and we know he’ll do whatever is needed to help his buds in the legal field.
The US is swirling down the toilet and Obama is there continually pressing down the toilet handle.
Radio just said NY for bankruptcy filing.
Yep.....NY Southern. NY Southern is NOTORIOUS for outrageous lawyer fees. By far the best place for an attorney to file.
The professional fees will be staggering when all is said and done, and it won’t just be for legal.
Capping lawyers fees????? Blasphemy! Capping CEO fees, of course!!!!!!!!!!
Does anyone know how this bankruptcy will affect the pensions of non union GM retirees? Are they secured by the government or the company?
Maybe if we sent CEO's to Washington to run our Nation, instead of lawyers...we might have some Change worth Hoping for.
Southern District of New York is where the expert bankruptcy judges are. This case will take years to sort out.
His buddies no question about it.
I’ll wager Delaware
Donnie Deutsch is getting PAID by BAILOUT MONEY....TAXPAYERS MONEY to do PR for GOVERNMENT MOTORS!!! Our money is going to that douchebag!
