Last week it emerged that BA lost more than £400million in the year up to March - its worst result since the airline was privatized more than two decades ago. What is the significance of BA being privatized ? Why does it not mention the losses BA incurred before it was privatized ?

Can’t do that because as a government-run institution losses can be more easily hidden.
