Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-S.C.) rejected charges Sunday that President Obama’s Supreme Court nominee, Judge Sonia Sotomayor, is a racist.
Asked if he agreed with former House Speaker Newt Gingrich (R-Ga.) and conservative radio talk show host Rush Limbaugh that Sotomayor is a racist, the South Carolina Republican said he disagreed.
“No, they interject themselves in the debate. They have got an audience to entertain and Newt is a political commentator. I’m a United States senator,” Graham said on "Fox News Sunday" with Chris Wallace. “I don’t think she’s a racist. She should be proud of what she has accomplished in life.”
Earlier, the senator highlighted comments from a speech Sotomayor gave in 2001 that suggested that she, a Latina women, would make a better judge than a white man because of her life experiences. Graham said the U.S. Court of Appeals Second Circuit judge should retract that statement.
“What she said was that based on her life experiences that a Latina women, somebody with her background, would be a better judge than a guy like me, a white guy from South Carolina. It is troubling,” Graham said. “It’s inappropriate and I hope she will apologize.”
Graham was joined by former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney (R) in disagreeing with Gingrich and Limbaugh on thier belief that Sotomayor is a racist.
“I disagree with them. This is a process where you have a individual that is intelligent, well-educated and has an extensive record. She deserves a full and fair hearing,” Romney said. “We will have a chance to hear what she has to say.”

You will never see leadership from a RINO/moderate. By their very nature they have no core values and weigh each statement/position based on some silly perceived political advantage. They only arrive at that statement or position by reacting to what others stake out.
I am going to have to watch the interview myself. It is really easy to take something out of context. Admit it, even Palin, when she rambles on incoherently, gives the distinct impression of trying to sound politically correct! How do I know it? Because I have read it and heard it. You can’t take one little quote. I will watch that interview for myself and let you know if I think people are doing Romney justice or if they are just trying to take out someone who their perceive to be a threat to their talentless, rambling show-boat! I am not saying that Romney should run for president, but what I am saying is I think people shouldn’t work so hard over-time to take out people who they think are a threat to their chosen one. I have heard people accuse Romney people of doing that, but it’s not true, it’s the other way around!
Did anyone ask these Republicans about Sotomayor’s membership in La Raza, a racist Mexican organization. One of their original creeds is, “for the race everything, for everyone else nothing”.

There is only one good thing about Lesley Graham, he won’t spawn any offspring.
On the other hand, the Kennedy’s get a spawn credit for theirs.
My Problem is mostly with gramesty he is a traitor to the party and the country.
This whole contingent of whatever they are and whatever they are called, RINO’s, soft middles, “compassionate” etc. I can say without hesitation and without regret that whatever they are I know for 100% I am not and there is no more reconciliation with them then there is with the so called left. They are the left. This dance is way past old and completely detrimental to our well being, continued culture, and ultimately our families and our posterity. We are now doing the same thing with them that they have been doing with Dem’s for years. Arguing semantics but ever moving left. It has to stop with us. Either they are effectively removed from the GOP or we are. The continued move left has to stop even if we’ve got to go outside the GOP to do it!
One more thing though, the woman is a racist! She is! It’s not right that she can get away with acting like that and being on a court, it’s very wrong. But I still need to see the interview to see what exactly was said. Sometimes people can be very skilled and say someone is a racist, while claiming they didn’t say that. I don’t think there is anything wrong with that, it is a skill. The woman is racist!!!! The Democrats are playing extremely dirty and they have got the whole educational system behind them supporting their sick propaganda. It’s a real pickle. So just screaming that they are racists, when clearly they are, might not do the trick. Those people are down right wicked!
