Why are Republicans such wimps?

We win on issues. Why aren't there more Dick Cheney's?

Because Dick Cheney is a man.

Many people who call themselves ‘Republican’ are really Democrats who voted for Obama in November 2008.

The ‘Republicans’ in Washington with a few exceptions became entrenched in power and staying in power and abandoned their party principles.

It has gotten to point that there is a vacuum of leadership with not one single Republican who would even be a viable opponent to Obama in 2012. Palin would be great. But, lets be real. 1/2 of the ‘Republican’ party savaged her just as badly as the Democrats/Media. Thanks McCain Republicans for damaging her.

Yes, that certainly accentuates the wimpiness, but I dare say the phenomenon predates Obama.

Yes, I think we should forget about—or recall?—’broken glass Republicans’ and only vote in ‘bed of nails’ Republicans, who promise only to sleep on a bed of nails whenever they are bunking in DC.

The implication being that they’d spend as little time in Congress and as little of their Congressional time in Washington as required to get the people’s business done.

I too, have wondered about this for a long time. David Horowitz says that it’s because Republicans are gentlemen and gentleladies. That we are too well brought up. We tend to be religious, and thus are aware of others’ feelings.

Democrats, believing in little or nothing...see no reason why they can’t behave like scum if it gets them what they want.

Makes sense to me.

It takes a lot of courage and the willingness to be demonized publicly to stand up against the left. They have 80% of the media, and have successfully characterized that part of the media who oppose them as ‘right wing’. This is the result of over 40 years of planning and activism by the left. It can and must be reversed, but it will also take planning, activism, and time.

One of the first steps is to determine what weapons you have at your disposal. As someone wrote on a separate thread a few days ago, one weapon we have is the economic weapon. Do not spend money that will in any way help the left. Write letters to companies stating that you will no longer buy their product etc. if they advertise in leftist publications, and mean it.

Learn the techniques of the left and you will be able to use those techniques against them, and to recognize their ploys when they try to use them. This will help you to neutralize their tactics.

When the thing upon which you place the highest value is being liked and/or admired, anything else that resembles a “principle” becomes your adversary. Washington Republicans routinely avoid principles as though they were radioactive. Please read my tagline (courtesy of one W.S. Churchill) for further clarification.

In Congress they (Republicans) believe that the 5% input they “are allowed” is precious.
As a result, they are mealy mouthed and over cautious in their statements.
They need to understand that the only path to significance is to stick to conservative values and actively oppose the libs.

Maybe we should look to General Petraeus sp? He is supposedly a solid Republican. Oh, I forgot, he just said we were guilty of violating the Geneva Convention accords under Bush/Cheney!

Wimps: John Coryn, Peggy Noonan, Olympia Snow, Michael Steele

Semi-Wimps: Lindsay Graham, Mitch McConnell

Real Men: Rush, Newt, Dick Cheney, Liz Cheney

PS I refuse to give money to the RNC until the Republicans get a backbone and start fighting back. No use in funding a party who is just going to kowtow to the Democrats all the time.

when an entire party makes themselves out to be victims, the other party is incapable of arguing any points because they will be accused of racism, sexism, etc...

this is how the dems will push through whatever they want over the next few years.

ps-i usually like my vanities to have a little more substance. but that's just me.

My friend. Isn't this is like standing in the middle of I-294 at 5:05 PM waving your arms to stop traffic to ask directions? {g}

Classic age old questions with classic aged old answers. ;^)
