Yes, and they wound up sounding mighty racist in the process and wound up with a lawsuit against them in Poland over it (read the whole article). There is plenty to joke about over the Obamas that have nothing to do with race and won't make conservatives look like the knuckle-dragging racists the left claims we are.

What I think is not the issue, nor is whether you are actually racist or not. That threads like this can be used by left-wing web sites and groups to paint Free Republic as a racist web site and get it “black-listed” on major web filters as a “hate site” that will make it unavailable to children and people at work is the issue. It’s the same thing that if you want to convince people that gun owners are responsible and save, you don’t do that by standing outside of your house shouting like a maniac waving a gun around. Even if it’s unloaded, you never hurt anyone, and it was only a joke, it’s not a joke when they take the gun away.

That photo, BTW, was taken by one of my great-great uncles who was a world-traveling photog with National Geographic. Nowhere in his records have we found any evidence that he even encountered cannibals.
