It says in the article they crucified the beheaded body and put on display as an example... And I mean, in public. Ya know, no sympathy for the bastard, but dayum, that’s got to be a health hazard (not to mention gross).

Humiliation of a corpse is probably a deterrent. Okay, that does make sense.
But is it really crucifixion? When the Tudors executed people and left parts of their dead bodies hanging on spikes or fences, we don't say that they were impaled.
Er, ... anybody else feel uncomfortable talking about this?

Crucifying the headless body in a public place is a way to set an example, according to the kingdom's strict interpretation of Islam. The English were so much more civilized in the 16th century with mere gibbeting; hanging the perp and leaving the corpse on display until it was picked clean by the buzzards.
