What does a nuclear madman have to do to get America’s attention? On Memorial Day, the North Koreans detonated “an underground atomic device many times more powerful than the bombs that destroyed Hiroshima and Nagasaki,” as my old colleagues at the Irish Times put it. You’d think that’d rate something higher than “World News In Brief,” see foot of page 37. But instead Washington was consumed by the Supreme Court nomination of Sonia Sotomayor, who apparently has a “compelling personal story.”
Doesn’t Kim Jong Il have a compelling personal story? Like Sonia, he grew up in a poor neighborhood (North Korea), yet he’s managed to become a nuclear power, shattering the glass ceiling to take his seat at the old nuclear boys’ club. Isn’t that an inspiring narrative? Once upon a time you had to be a great power, one of the Big Five permanent members of the U.N. Security Council, to sit at the nuclear table: America, Britain, France, Russia, China, the old sons of power and privilege. But now the mentally unstable scion of an impoverished no-account backwater with a GDP lower than that of Zimbabwe has joined their ranks: Celebrate diversity!

Wrong. Don't let the forces of diversity politics blind you to reality--that this country has ALWAYS been TRULY diverse--not about skin color, but ideas. It's our diversity that's made us what we are, and that happened long, long before the multicultists showed up.

Exactly. Their mental conformity comes in a host of skin colors, but inside one of their examples of "diversity" is indistinguishable from the next person.
You're confused. There are two types of diversity; natural diversity and forced diversity.
The US has always had natural diversity - the great melting pot. We were supposedly diverse, but we were all Americans, and we, or our ancestors, came here to become Americans.
When the Democrats speak of "diversity" they aren't talking about the melting pot.
They are talking about forced diversity. It used to be called forced integration, but now it has gone beyond even that.
Ted Kennedy, for decades, has championed the US State Department's policy of bringing large groups of people to the US who don't really want to be here, who refuse to assimilate, who have values (ideas or ideals) that are contrary to those of most Americans and who very often are criminals.
The intent of this forced diversity is not to make us stronger, but rather to turn the US into a third world country.
Maybe it will read better if I put quotation marks around it: Our "diversity" is our greatest weakness and it will destroy us.

The man is clueless regarding such matters, and what is worse is he isn't interested.
Oh, he MIGHT be interested once NK nukes an ally. But only in how he'll be able to accrue more power on the homefront.
We need a spiritual and political sea change in our hearts, folks.
The young people (20s-30s) for the most part do not understand it--they worship Hussein, the middle agers are worried about keeping their jobs and property, and the retirees are focusing on protecting their assets. Pray for a turnaround.

True diversity is the opposite of racism.
What we call "diversity" today isn't racism, either, it's conformity.

No. The country has always been made up of people from various places who all became Americans, with American ideals. That isn't diversity. The melting pot is the opposite of diversity.
The Democrats use of the term diversity is the combination of "multiculturalism" (the opposite of the melting pot), plus the forced introduction of third world people into the US who either refuse to assimilate or are incapable of assimilation, due to their values.
Apparently they consider it a law enforcement issue.
If Kim Dim Wit fires a nuke at the US, or at a US ally, I would guess that the White House will make a police report.
That should take care of it, After all, on TV the cops always wrap everything up in less than an hour. Unless it's a mini-series, of course.
