The federal government is forcing 3 million Americans to disclose sensitive, personal information about finances, health and lifestyle in a 14-page survey including questions about availability of household flush toilets and difficulty with undressing and bathing.
The 2009 American Community Survey, an annual supplement to the decennial Census, asks about residents' personal relationships and whether a home has hot and cold running water, a flush toilet, bathing facilities, appliances and phone services. It also asks how many rooms are in a home and what vehicles are used at each household.
The new questionnaire asks respondents what they pay for electricity, gas, water and sewer every month and whether residents receive food stamps.
Question 16 asks, "About how much do you think this house and lot, apartment, or mobile home would sell for if it were for sale?"

Doubtless the Census Bureau would give (unlawfully, of course) a 6 or 7 dollar cleaning subsidy to the illiterate ACORN bozo when he/she/it craps his/her/its pants upon finding out what might result from a moron encountering an informed citizen.
Merely a random thought. Not advocating violence at all, particularly not toward goobermint ''workers'', who wouldn't and, frankly, in huge majority, couldn't understand such a result to their actions.
We didn’t fill it out last time. We had the long form, it was pages long. I threw it out. No one ever came to our door. And back then, if they had, I was too busy having, nursing and raising babies to answer it. ;)
We were just talking about this at a party this weekend. A couple neighbors said they had people come to their door asking questions. I didn’t think the Census was due until 2010? No one came here. So far.
Sears or Montgomery Wards?
“Sears or Montgomery Wards?”
Ha, neither. Mostly Alaska magazines and Northern Tools catalog. I wouldn’t put it past our gubberment to even ask that question; “what do you read while sittin’ on the pot?”
What 3 million households are receiving in the mail now is the American Community Survey.

Or just throw it out. How would “they” know anyway?
Watch, I’m gonna have someone at my door and I’m gonna be like WTF?
We have really great neigbors...we alert each other when the JW’s or whomever else come knocking. Growing up, we had next door neigbors, lifelong family friends, who NEVER answered their phone or door unless they knew who it was, long before caller ID. We used to go out back, in the yard (well not really a yard, just a little piece of concrete)and holler or knock on our shared wall. We used to think they were paranoid but now I think they were ahead of the curve.
A couple of months ago a Census worker came walking down the block, stopping at each home to snap a picture. Me and my wife were in our car about to drive off, but we stayed and watched him. As he approached our home I visibly started snapping a bunch of pictures of him. Then I questioned him and said we all watch each other's homes on our block, and that the neighbors would be getting this info about him.
my answer would be no, I dig a hole in the backyard and squat.
Won’t answer the door.
Thanks for the links. Interesting articles. I wonder if that’s what a couple neighbors were talking about...no one came to my house but we’re always in and out.
Thanks for those links...
The only info they’re getting from me is:
“There are 4 people in this home. Two voting age, and two children. Good day”.
“If I get one I will never ever send it back in”.

“I never got one, either”.
Well, that’s ‘cause they KNOW not to send you one...:)
I received one a couple years ago, along with two reminders, and trashed them all. Never heard a word in follow-up.
Some research done online at the time indicated to me that the Census Bureau may be reluctant to press charges as they are nervous about a court case, since this obviously isn’t a head count done every ten years.
And if it plugs your pipes.....you can call Obama, or Acorn, for a bailout.
Sweet...I knew there was a reason for big government.
If the answer is NO. Answer what you will - number of people living there should be enough.
If the answer is YES, refuse to answer any questions citing that ACORN is a suspected criminal organization and under indictment in at least 10 states.
Lets put them on notice that we will fight ACORN tooth and nail!!
That’s OK, Twink. If they come to your door you can talk crazy and lead them down the primrose path for as long as you can get away with. Just channel the craziest person you’ve ever run into and go from there. It could be fun. ;^)
LOL! But also, a lot of factual info detailed.
Err...Two people live here.
I hope I get that form to fill out. I will tell them to go %&^*(*&*&)() and send it back.
