Fox News Channel host Bill O'Reilly responded on The Factor tonight to criticisms of his attacks last night on Free Republic and Hot Air by the sites' respective founders, Jim Robinson and Michelle Malkin. The segment last night was on reaction by right and left wing websites on the Judge Sotomayor nomination to the Supreme Court. Free Republic was singled out for an obnoxious comment about Sotomayor being diabetic. Hot Air was singled out for an impolitic strongly worded appeal to block her nomination.
O'Reilly noted Malkin's reaction made on Fox and Friends this morning and Robinson's comments which were posted on Free Republic and e-mailed to The Factor.
O'Reilly agreed that both had points but that the sites should better monitor their comments as he does at his site and that O'Reilly would hold both right and left wing sites accountable.
Hot Air complained that the comment singled out by O'Reilly was labeled a 'blog' entry rather than a comment, thereby leaving the impression it was made by one of the site's official posters.
Jim Robinson's response was boiled down to Jim calling O'Reilly "an elitist gasbag" and noting that offending comments sometimes get past the moderators. O'Reilly did not inform his viewers that Mr. Robinson is a diabetic who has lost family to the disease.
The segment aired about forty minutes into the program tonight.
FR threads one and two.

Michelle Malkin on Fox and Friends.
I knew he wouldn’t apologize.
BO’s failure to distinguish between a post (blog entry) and a comment by a site moderator/owner is a matter of professional incompetence on BO’s part.
His failure to mention Jim Robinson’s diabetes, when that was the thrust of O’Reilly’s comment, says that BO is lacking in courage or honesty or both.
“O’Reilly agreed that both had points but that the sites should better monitor their comments as he does at his site and that O’Reilly would hold both right and left wing sites accountable.”
I think O’Blowhard should stop featuring salacious sex and porn industry stories in the guise of serious news that he is oh so “concerned” about. Think he will clean up his show and get rid of the smut?
He is nothing but a media whore. No different than Oberman.
He is un-watchable. Used to watch him several years ago. He is the most vain person on television.
O’Reilly is clueless about a lot of things: Muslims, perverts, liberals, Al Sharpton, Micheal Savage, et al.
Laura Ingram does a much better job substituting than OR.
His ACORN interview was a joke. He was softer on them than he was on Obama. Complete waste of time. Frank Luntz even called him out on it.
Elitist gasbags only eat locally sustainable, 100% Vegan, fair trade, organic bean burritos, purchased from living wage employers?
O’Reilly should have read Jim’s entire response. He is always saying that his show presents both sides. If that is the case, it would be only fair to read Jim’s entire response or invite him on the show to discuss O’Reilly’s unfair attack on FR.
And to think he was a SCHOOL TEACHER! Gawd.

*Statement made by Dr. Julianne Malveaux (now President of Bennett College) referring to Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas during an NPR roundtable. By O'Reilly's standards, everybody at NPR is as disgusting as this pig Malveaux.
I stopped watching the bloviating windbag years ago. I suggest you do the same. It does wonders for ones outlook on humanity.
Let me also mention that I only know of the guy who pisses his pants, the spitting guy who has leg tingles, and Andrea Mitchell from secondary sources, again helping my outlook on humanity.
Hey there Guen.
Yes he is full of himself. He also is self confessed Internet-phobe.
Today, in fast breaking news, he is a dinosaur by not being on the net.
He’s such a blowhard, he would last about three minutes on a thread here.
So many folks here can run rings around him intellectually.
But he’s a legend in his own mind.
A small mind is a terrible thing to waste, is it not? ;)
BO stinks.
Well, isn't that interesting. Looks like it's up to you, Beck. And Ailes may wanna have a little chat with O'Reilly.
So, the mighty bloviator censors his responders on his site? I thought censorship was baaaaaad!
No, that would make it stop being the BOR Spin Show
