(Some will wonder why I posted this here..it's a sign of slipping conservative values.)

I read an astounding thing. For every case of parents abusing children, there are nearly 20 cases of children abusing parents. Parental abuse by children can run the gambit of physical abuse, mental abuse, financial abuse and emotional abuse.

I was shocked at this article. No idea that this is so widespread. I posted it on Freepers because I think this is part of the backlash of not holding to our conservative principles when raising our children.

Symptom of losing our religion, no-fault divorce, welfare and, most of all, MEN LOSING THEIR ‘NADS by accepting current cultural norms.

My Dad would puke bricks if he knew.

This will get much worse because the Baby Boomers are STEALING from thier kids and grandkids. Wait until “Social Security and Medicare” goes POOF and watch the kids opt to put Mom and Dad(if they even know who “Dad” is) in an IceBerg and float them out to sea when they get too expensive.

I think many people know of children who refuse to move out of the house. Children who think they are somehow entitled to huge weddings, huge graduation parties, cell phones, new cars, over-priced college educations, etc. I don’t know if it rises to the level of abuse or not but IMHO it’s pretty damn close.

Change the word conservative to christian and you will have a more accurate answer

It will make its way into the home, until at last the very animals catch the infection of anarchy.

The parent falls into the habit of behaving like the child, and the child like the parent: the father is afraid of his sons, and they show no fear or respect for their parents, in order to assert their freedom.

Citizens, resident aliens, and strangers from abroad are all on an equal footing.

To descend to smaller matters, the schoolmaster timidly flatters his pupils, and the pupils make light of their masters as well as their attendants.

Generally speaking, the young copy their elders, argue with them, and will not do what they are told; while the old, anxious not to be thought disagreeable tyrants, imitate the young and condescend to enter into their jokes and amusements.

Putting all these items together, you can see the result; the citizens become so sensitive that they resent the slightest application of control as intolerable tyranny, and in their resolve to have no master they end by disregarding even the law, written or unwritten.

Such, then, I should say, is the seed, so full of fair promise, from which springs despotism.

Parents put their newborns in daycare at 6-weeks-old and never bond with them - anything is possible after that.

I had a friend - when she was dying she had to deal with a grown daughter and her drug addicted sociopathic husband who would come over and steal her pain medicine. They would also promise to take her to her radiation treatments - then keep the car for days. It was awful. Since I didn’t live near her, when I visited I took her to the local hospice. The volunteers there helped her - took her to her treatments and protected her and her medicines. She was able to live in her home until the end. I don’t know what happened to the daughter and her creepy husband - and don’t care. I assume their asshole-ness will catch up with them someday...

my mom was an investigator for adult protective services for several years and the crap adult children or grandchildren do to their elderly parent/grandparents is horrifying. these are people who raised their kids and the kids act as if the parent is a slave who owes them something. it has nothing to do with conservative principles. it has everything to do with a system that rewards failure with “gimmes”.

Ones that get me are children who feel entitled to a parental inheritance. They will complain about mom and dad having a good time in their older age because they are “spending our inheritance”. I was at a hairdressers when a client spoke of a neighbor leaving town a few weeks and the adult grandchildren had a garage sale — of their grandmother’s things without permission. This neighbor stopped the event asap.
