I understand what you're saying, but look at it another way: I'm making this up, but how's this for a quote for a yearbook --
"There's nothing I like better than helping people cool off on a hot summer's day!" -- Sheriff "Bull" Connors.
That's an innocuous quote, but if you know that Connors was famous for using firehoses against civil rights marchers, then the quote becomes less savory.
I guantee you that no one whose yearbook entry quotes David Duke or Bull Connors will ever get on the Supreme Court. Doesn't matter what the quote says.
There is no “s” in Connor (unless you mean Jimmy).
