Common Ground in Obama and Sotomayor Life Stories
NY Times ^ | 5/26/09 | Jeff Zelany

As he stood beside Judge Sonia Sotomayor, President Obama did more than simply name his first choice for an appointment to the Supreme Court. He told a story – her life story – that reverberated with echoes of his own narrative that propelled him to the White House.

In introducing Ms. Sotomayor to the nation, Mr. Obama — who has mastered the art of creating and employing a personal narrative to political ends — suddenly assumed the role of narrator-in-chief. He ticked through Judge Sotomayor’s biography in great detail, suggesting that her path would provide one of the most compelling ways of building support for her confirmation to the Supreme Court.

“As impressive and meaningful as Judge Sotomayor’s sterling credentials in the law is her own extraordinary journey,” the president said. “Born in the South Bronx, she was raised in a housing project not far from Yankees Stadium, making her a lifelong Yankees fan.”

Who gives A RAT’S ASS!!!!!!!!!! I’ve lived a difficult life with a tumultuous upbringing. Next.

I don’t wallow in pity and ask others to pay for it. This is SICK.

I want a judge who follows the Constitution. Not make rulings according to EMOTION! They’re ripping the blindfold off of ‘Justice’, herself.

Ah, you beat me to it.

Who gives a —— about her life story?

The only thing that matters is her judicial philosophy.

Common ground: They both hate whites and the society they’ve created, and they make sh*t up constantly.

The Supreme Court is an illegitimate tag team of tyranny, an un-Constitutional fiction created by megalomaniac John Marshall. The addition of this anti-European-American liberal fascist only confirms what we already know. It’s time to get rid of the Supreme Court. When Free America is formed from the ashes of the USSA, there will be no high priesthood of unaccountable elitist mandarins.

"Common Ground in Obama and Sotomayor Life Stories" And I give a crap why and how? It might matter to the mass of Barry unicorn and rainbow followers, but the issues over her appointment/selection have utterly nothing! to do with her "life story." In essence:

Obama and the NYT are intellectually lazy. Sotamayor is not the forst Hispanic nominated to the SCOTUS. Benjamin Nathan Cardozo (1870-1938) was the first Hispanic Justice in the US Supreme Court. The fact that his ancestors were Spanish Jews who fled to England during the Inquisition and then immigrated to the US before the Revolution doesn't make him any less Hispanic in today's identity politics.

Democrats, like Chuck Schumer and Dick Durbin, think it is their duty to make life hard for people, like Miguel Estrada, who have "compelling stories" but are not progressive.

From 2004, Score One for the Democrats in Memo-gate Spin :

... judicial memo to Sen. Richard Durbin (D-IL) stressed the need to delay action on D.C. Circuit Court nominee Miguel Estrada. The memo labels Estrada as "especially dangerous." Included in the reasons for this label was the fact that Estrada is "Latino."
