Selling any used cribs or playpens at your upcoming garage sale? Childrens clothes with drawstrings or zippers? Pre-1985 books? Rubber duckies or pool floaties?
Better check them twice.
Just like megasize toy manufacturers and stores that sell products from China, the notoriously broad and confusing federal Consumer Product Safety Improvement Act applies to you and your front yard

Good luck enforcing this...idiots, one and all, who are trying to rule our lives as if we don’t realize that everything around us carries a certain amount of risk that we choose to accept...
ERrrrrrr, all government has so overstepped their usefulness in so many ways.

yea but..........if they hired enough people to check every garage sale in the country, there would be no unemployment. They would also be union memebers cause they work for the government...excellent benefits /s

Will the same local cops who won’t enforce federal (i.e. immigration) laws, because that is the feds’ duty also not enforce this? At least not until they get a cut of the swag....

Lot of those are "professional yardsalers" ... same house every Friday afternoon and Saturday morning, same type of $#!+, but different items.
I can really see them paying attention to those idiotic jackanapes in Washington ...

Did you really think we want those laws observed? said Dr. Ferris. We want them to be broken. Youd better get it straight that its not a bunch of boy scouts youre up against... Were after power and we mean it... Theres no way to rule innocent men. The only power any government has is the power to crack down on criminals. Well, when there arent enough criminals one makes them. One declares so many things to be a crime that it becomes impossible for men to live without breaking laws. Who wants a nation of law-abiding citizens? Whats there in that for anyone? But just pass the kind of laws that can neither be observed nor enforced or objectively interpreted and you create a nation of law-breakers and then you cash in on guilt. Now thats the system, Mr. Reardon, thats the game, and once you understand it, youll be much easier to deal with. - Ayn Rand, Atlas Shrugged 1957

First they crater the economy so that people have to sell stuff to pay for food and utilities, and now much of what they have to sell is illegal to sell (kid clothes, toys, furniture)?

It's amazing what you can buy for a few thousand Won on the street in Seoul ... and ship to the States for a relative pittance. Heck, the street vendor will even pack it for you ... and do a darn good job.
Customs?
Hah!
It's all bonafide gifts, I tell you. Gifts! For my twenty thousand closest friends ...

For sure ... I'm not saying that you or anyone should or would be wise to buy the fakes, whether here or on the street in Seoul. I don't, and didn't when I was over there. I did buy a lot of porcelain that was actually made in Korea, for the Korean market. Also did so in Japan (Japanese make). Very nice stuff. The fake handbags, etc are crapola.
I've occasionally found some real bargains at yardsales ... last good one was a man selling his bow collection (very nice Bear and PSC gear) ... because, Heaven Forbid, it was five years old and "out of date". I got the lot for a song ... and he went off and bought all new kit.

Yea, can'tcha just see the bumper stickers on millions of mini vans now.
Not all's lost, great practice for the inevitable 2nd Amendment rumble --& other various & assorted sundry rumbles, FTM-- that're a-comin'. ;^)

How is this supposed to help boost the economy? Force us all to shop at Walmart instead of yardsales? Please...
I've seen more dangerous toys at Dollar Tree (stuff made in China) than at anyone's yard sale.

Bingo. I remember we all were talking about it before he left office. That’s the problem with the GOP: They talk small government, but then they expand government, too.
