Knowing what we will do DOES NOT mean that He approves of it.

So He walks into a room and finds someone commiting rape. Since He knows it’s going to happen, does He walk back into the past, and still create that person?
If He knows it’s going to happen, and He cannot be wrong, doesn’t it have to happen?

No, but it does mean that He creates us anyway, knowing what we will do. Doesn’t it?

I find it best for my mental health if I do not presume to know the mind of God. I cannot answer your question.

Fair enough.
Neither do I, that’s why I just ask people these questions, not expecting to learn the mind of God, but to see people’s answers. Thanks

Why do you think He creates rapists and murderers?

I wouldn’t presume to know why He does such things other than that He gave us free will. If man never sinned, it really wouldn’t be free will.

On reflection, I came up with an answer to your question. But it may be completely wrong. It may turn into a few paragraphs, so before I go to the trouble, I’d like to know if you are interested.

If you have young children, you know the "don't run in the house in bare feet" warning. You tell them, they do not listen, and fall or stub their toe anyway. They were being disobedient, but they are young children.
Do you cast them away for that? Of course not. The injury is not grevious, even though caused by disobedience, and can be mended in its entirety with just a little attention.
Compare this to the rapist, the victim, and the scale of God. Maybe to him, violent rape is a little thing, easily fixed. All he has to do is get them to the band aids in heaven (which means they have to go to Heaven first).
Further, both the rapist and his victim are His children. Maybe they are both 3 year olds in his eyes. The rapist can still repent, the victim can still forgive, both of which are pleasing to Him.
I think it is a matter of scale. Any heinous thing that happens here in this place may be fixed in Heaven. If the child acknowledges the error and asks for forgiveness.
Therefore, He would still create the rapist, give him free will, and wish him to come around.

I think assisted suicide for the terminally ill is something that should always be available after proper counseling. The right to meet death on your own terms is something that shouldnt be denied to patients, especially when the alternative is a choice between spending your remaining weeks or months suffering through horrific, unimaginable pain or in a drug-induced, incoherent haze. Although the implementation of such a policy involves some difficulties, I do strongly agree with you.

Me neither, at least we agree that God knowingly creates sinners. Do you think that if God knows someone will do something, they must do it?

Yes, but I won’t be able to answer until tomorrow, it’s almost midnite, and I’ve got to get to bed.
Does your answer mean that you do presume to know the mind of God?

That sort of goes along with what I’ve been saying for a long time...that what we consider to be good or bad, really isn’t good or bad to God, it’s just the way He creates individuals.
Won’t God already know if and when that person will come around? Even before they are born?

I have no idea. I did put a big disclaimer beore my supposition, but it’s just a guess on my part.
