I think assisted suicide for the terminally ill is something that should always be available after proper counseling. The right to meet death on your own terms is something that shouldn’t be denied to patients, especially when the alternative is a choice between spending your remaining weeks or months suffering through horrific, unimaginable pain or in a drug-induced, incoherent haze.

Although the implementation of such a policy involves some difficulties, I do strongly agree with you.

Assistd suicide has always been in existance done between MD and patient without others even knowing. Docs are asked frequently for sufficient meds to kill themselves should a patient have a terminal disease.

It was never talked about. And usually barbiturates or opiates were involved in quantities sufficient to cause death but not outrageous amounts.
