The California Supreme Court rules to UPHOLD Proposition 8 (which put into the California state constitution that marriage is defined as being between a man and woman)
The court also ruled on the validation of the pseudo-marriages performed before passage of Prop 8.

I dont like it either, but frankly, if they got in before Prop 8, just let them stay married. Agreed. Some things you have to leave alone and let it resolve itself.

Now if only the voters of Massachusetts/Maine/Cali etc. would be allowed to decide the issue.Iowa,too. Strictly judicial activism there, the people don't want or need this.

It will be amusing to watch the animosity between those whose marriage was upheld and those that missed the boat. It brings to mind that old Dr. Seuss story, “The Star-Bellied Sneetches”.

The people need to start unelecting those responsible for contradicting the people on this.
Amen. And the pastors need to abandon tax exempt status and KICK ANYONE OUT OF THE FLOCK who voted for Obama, Pelosi, Reid, Clinton, etc.

By the CA SU Court allowing those faux marriages to remain legalized in CA is going to cause lots of legal trouble and lower court battles along with keeping the issue of gay marriage alive and well in the fairy fantasy state.

The court said Prop. 8 had no retroactive effect. Bunch of judicial wimps. Anyway, you take the good with the bad and the good news is this drives a giant stake through the heart of the queerly beloved's attempt to force their lifestyle on the rest of us.

Turns out it was a 6-1 ruling, so just one (in)justice said FU to the people.

My cousin is one of the 18,000. I love them both dearly. I resent the attempt to redefine this bedrock social institution, especially when the purpose is simply to salve people’s hurt feelings.
If the liberals have their way, there won’t be any bedrock left. Seems that its destruction is their animating force.

At the root of it, they wanted God/the Church to sanction their relationships, and if they couldn't have that, they were going to force Man to.
Except Man objected as well.

The allowing of 18,000 fake marriages to remain "marriages" is meaningless, only a feel-good status for the homo-anarchists. The same "rights" would be retained by those now-illegal "marriages" if they simply reverted to domestic partnerships: taxation (state), employment, inheritance, end-of-life decisions, etc. Everything that they always crow that they want. But we all know this isn't what they're really after.

At least those precious county clerks in conservative regions won’t have to have the homo-activists shove this in their faces again - at least for awhile.

That's why I'm postponing any glee from this ruling. It's only a matter time, measured in years not decades, until California amends this amendment.
No, I don't think so. The demographics of this state are such that Mexicans will own it in mere years, and while they are all for socialism, they are not for the homo agenda. Democrats pandered to the homos because they were a large special interest group who could propel Democrats to victory, but the growing influence of Mexicans will make homos irrelevant.

I office in the SF financial district at Front and Clay St. Haven’t heard the bullhorns yet, but it is just a matter of time. The commute home tonight should be interesting.

Well then, the Mexicans better get here faster because the teacher union scumbags are doing overtime to indoctrinate children in our government schools to accept homo-perversion as normal and acceptable, and they'll be happy to do it bilingually.

"The demographics of this state are such that Mexicans will own it in mere years, and while they are all for socialism, they are not for the homo agenda. That's actually a demographic I hadn't thought about. I haven't seen any of the exit polls for Prop8 that identified out the Latino vote. But, as you point out, it likely didn't break well for the gays.

Whoa, hey, they are getting here quite fast enough already. Let's not get crazy. I don't think most people, even people who live in California, understand just how many illegals we have here already. It's actually pretty ridiculous.
