Brace yourself. Take a Dramamine. Youll be hearing about Appeals Court Judge Sonia Sotomayor ad nauseam in the coming weeks. Did I say Sonia Sotomayor? I meant, of course, Sonia Sotomayor, the first Hispanic nominee to the Supreme Court. It will be a constantly recurring epithet, like swift-footed Achilles, gray-eyed Athena, or (perhaps more to the point) honest Iago.
That Obama would nominate a female to succeed David Souter, who retires next month, was the unanimous opinion in scribe-osphere. And of course a minority female would be particular attractive to our politically correct president, even if this particular female minority was not the brightest bulb on the billboard. The air hadnt stopped vibrating with the news that Justice Souter was taking his quill pen and heading back to New Hampshire before Sonia Sotomayor, the first Hispanic nominee to the Supreme Court, emerged as a front-runner on the SCOTUS racing form. Comments there noted her qualifications correct complement of chromosomes and suitable ethnic identity, above all, but also the requisite armory of left-liberal opinions without which no candidate for the Court under Obama need apply...

George H. W. Bush appointed her to a Federal Judgeship, so she must be pretty good. ;)
Now THAT’S good sarcasm!
I called both my senators and asked them to oppose her nomination because she is a racist and a sexist and has made public remarks proving both.
If we all call our senators they will have to put some heat on her and perhaps someone will look into her background to see if she hires illegal white guys to do her yardwork.
Then there’s always the question of whether a Latina woman has to file income taxes like those pesky white men.
She was nominated by Obama. That’s probably all the reason I need, although she provides so many more.
that is my felings exactly.
Okay, so Obama has nominated a liberal Hispanic woman to replace David Souter on the Supreme court.
Souter is not Hispanic. Other than that, what’s the difference between them?
She’s portrayed by some as being a darling of the left-wing extremists.. a feeely weeepy kind of Judge who lets her emotions override the law and intent.. or so I’m hearing.
Expect the MSM to weep along with her as they report her nomination’s progress thru the process.
It won’t do any good for me. BOTH Senators from my home state (Virgnia), are sychophantic, spineless, simpering lap-dogs for the Obamessiah.
I can’t imagine Obama nominating anybody at all to the USSC who would be friendly to liberty and the US’s best interests.
Nonsense, try NY and NJ. There’s no hope here.
In VA didn’t Webb go on record saying stop the Gitmo nonsense and keep it?
Try it, at least it will make you feel better.
You never know what might trigger that fear factor of not being re-elected and make them at least ask a couple of questions of her.
If everyone on that comm. asks a few pertinent questions, who knows what will come out????
This woman is flawed and that point needs to come out.
Both an incompetent and a racist; that’s a twofer for Obama as he seeks actively to destroy the nation.
In addition, she’ll fall right into lockstep with the new, more strident and activist, Marxist line now coming out of Washington.
No. He said close it, but have a plan.
Ms. Kelly is great, isn’t she?
She’s a racist and a sexist, but since she is “PC” she can get away with it.
As a white man, I demand the same rights as a black, lesbian, handicapped person. If nothing else, I could joke like that and no one would say anything. :(
Isn’t he the same person who selected souter?
I’ve been trying since the radically ant-gun Eric Holder’s confirmation. It is pointless.
Now that a lib-tard with a “D” next to his name is in office they both “feel strongly that the president should be able to nominate those whom HE wants for federal positions without interference from the Senate”.
I’m sure they will reassess those “feelings” if/when the next lib-tard with an “R” after his name gets elected president.
