The US has given warning to North Korea that it will 'pay a price' for its aggression after it launched two more missiles a day after an underground nuclear test.
Susan Rice, the US ambassador to the United Nations, issued the warning amid an increasingly bitter stand off between Washington and Pyongyang and as the UN Security Council discussed what further action could be taken to stem North Korea's belligerence.
A surface-to-air missile and a surface-to-ship missile were fired from North Korea's east coast on Tuesday, just hours after President Barack telephoned the leaders of South Korea and Japan to reassure them that he would protect them in the event of any attack.
The North Korean government said that it was clear that America's "hostile policy" of the Bush era had not changed.
"Our army and people are fully ready for battle ... against any reckless US attempt for a pre-emptive attack," it said in a statement.
The new launches came a day after the regime tested a nuclear bomb estimated to be the same size as the ones dropped on Hiroshima and Nagasaki during the Second World War. Pyongyang also fired three short-range missiles off its east coast on Monday.
It is unclear whether the missiles were test-launches, or whether North Korea is trying to deter US spy planes from hovering above its military installations.
The rogue state has also warned ships to stay clear of its east coast, and is now warning that its west coast should also be avoided, suggesting that further missile launches are planned.
"The North is continuing its sabre-rattling," an unnamed South Korean Defence official told the Yonhap news agency, without clarifying the possible intent of the missiles. South Korean intelligence has identified "brisk activity" along the coast line, as the North manoeuvres its

Yeah, and he better not hold his breath waiting for those CDs that won't work in N Korea either!
Who is this "President Barrack"?. I thought the Bozo's name was Obama? Did you ever hear, or read, of them saying President George? I'm with you on the He crap also. Didn't he mean the US, or does he plan on fighting all by himself?
I do not think Bozo will back our troops in S Korea if the North envades. I really don’t think he wants to, his aim is to destroy our country and cutting and running is one way to do it.
Price? What? Postage due on the latest strongly worded letter?
WHAT aggression? I see stealthy chess moves on the part of the NK’s.
That’s a terrifying scenario, but why wouldn’t Kim do it? What’s stopping him?
Great!
>On Monday, we will drop a nuke onto your 20th largest city.<
Nice plan assuming NK has that many “large” cities. The trouble is, they don’t.
*>On Monday, we will drop a nuke onto your 20th largest city.<
Nice plan assuming NK has that many large cities. The trouble is, they dont.*
Also, Truman wouldn’t even drop one on the North Koreans or the Chinese while there was a shooting war going on, so basing this as something he would do is fairly ludicrous.
Strong letter to follow...
I’m sure Kim Jong-Mentally-Ill plans on Arec Bardwin to step in to save the day at the last moment...
He’s so ronery...
