I am pretty sure that party already exists. Sure does and surprisingly it is the platform of the RNC, as well.
Not too far into the future one of these same elites will make a breakout to save us from ourselves. The agenda won't change, only the rhetoric.

Is this some kind of Monty Python skit?
A Republican wants to lead the Party yet not only did he refuse to vote for the kind of Party candidate that he favors (McCain) he endorsed the opposition and voted for him (Obama)! Plus..
the timing of the endorsement was "of great tactical importance" to the opposition Party's candidate (Obama).
Powell's endorsement of Obama
"The endorsement is not only symbolic but, in terms of timing, it is of great tactical importance. Powell is a brand unto himself in American politics, and clearly transcends the media's tendency to hype endorsements over their actual importance to voters. However, the announcement's indisputable benefit is that the former Secretary of State and general is sure to block any chance John McCain has of winning the next two or three days of news coverage, as the media swoons over the implications of the choice. It is simple political math: McCain has 15 days to close a substantial gap, and he will now lose at least one-fifth of his total remaining time."

Sure does and surprisingly it is the platform of the RNC, as well. That is NOT the platform of the RNC. It may be the end result as the RNC bigwigs like to downplay what the platform really is and try to look moderate, but most definitely is not the platform of the party.

That is NOT the platform of the RNC. It is not the written platform, but it is their platform nevertheless.
Remember when Bob Dole's reply when he was asked about the abortion plank in the GOP platform? It doesn't matter, no one ever reads that thing.

Of course he does. But it was still one of his main talking points for beating up on McCain. I'm one of his targets because I work for a company with health bennies and don't pay taxes on those bennies. Of course, his precious illegal aliens and other tax consumers don't pay taxes on their free medical care, but I'm supposed to pay for them and my family too.

True, but... The GOP wants to define itself as the diverse and modern-thinking party of Powell and not the anachronous party of Reagan. They will open their arms to Powell.IMHO,Powell is not modern thinking. He's way old school in the sense that all the poop that Obama is pushing is 70's statist, socialist, anti-American thinking. Dick Morris is right when he says that the first action will be the success or failure of Obama's spend and tax policies. Then a standard bearer will emerge.

If Colin Powell is correct about Americans wanting more government in their lives then perhaps he can explain the vote in CA against higher taxes and bigger government. He needs to heed the words of Gen. Douglas MacArthur and just fade away. He should do so quickly so as to preserve what shreds of decency that he has remaining, if any.

Message to Powell....GET OUT!!!
To: melt
Powel, you had better have one heck of an explanation why you did NOT man-up for Richard Armitage leaking Plame’s name to the Press. YOU screwed President Bush big time. Until you admit and then explain your TRAITOROUS backstabbing unforgivable behavior, as far as I am concerned, you can go to ‘eLL. There is no room for you in either party. YOU ARE A DISGRACE, either as a democrat or as a republican. You cannot be trusted.

It’s amazing that Powell has become such a media whore but ok, here’s his chance. Rush resigned as the titular head of the GOP and handed it over to the RINO technocrat. Maybe he’ll do better than the time he negotiated the Persian Gulf War ceasefire and let Saddam continue to use his attack helicopters which Saddam immediately used on the Kurds. Powell has a bad case of cranium in rectum syndrome.

Elected Republicans fearful? They’ve always been fearful. They are with few exceptions COWARDS. They’ve been cowards for a long, long time. They can’t argue their way out of a sopping, wet paper bag. Any elected Republican who admits to fear, ought to resign. They cannot represent their voters fully and be afraid. Please, go away and enjoy your pensions, you cowards.

Powell has never been specific about his ideas. Never. Maybe, he’ll deign to sprinkle some of his fantastic ideas on us, the great unwashed. I, for one, can’t wait to hear what the great man has to say.

Stormin’ Norman said Powell had no stomach for war.
He’s the reason we didn’t take out Saddam then.
He’s an affirmative action General.

I havent liked powell since the Gulf War. Cheney was doing all of the decision making and calling the shots, leading to victory - powell would step into the spotlight only when the applause started. Hes a fake...a commiebama operative.

I'm sorry... what? Americans are looking for the same things they have always looked for. Freedom of Speech, Freedom of Expression, Freedom of Religion, Right to bear Arms, financial independence, and Due Process. I respectfully beg to differ Mr. Powell.

What about this:
1: Biden discovers his aneurysm is acting up again, returns to the Senate or some other cushy post
2: Powell replaces him as VP

Let's call it what it is:
betrayal After his unqualified endorsement of Obama, Powell removed any vestige of credibility to offer advice to the GOP or anyone.
Here's is some advice for you Colin:

Colin Powell has had every advantage the republican party could give him. His gratitude is expressed by betraying the principles that made his success possible and stabbing his benefactors in the back. Powell is a no class a-hole and unworthy of further regard.
