Barack Obama spoke at the National Archives last Thursday on the war on terror (not that he used that term). After paying tribute to the Declaration of Independence, the Constitution, and the Bill of Rights, and before turning to a defense of his policies, the President of the United States said:
I stand here today as someone whose own life was made possible by these documents. My father came to our shores in search of the promise that they offered. My mother made me rise before dawn to learn of their truth when I lived as a child in a foreign land. My own American journey was paved by generations of citizens who gave meaning to those simple words--"to form a more perfect union." I have studied the Constitution as a student; I have taught it as a teacher; I have been bound by it as a lawyer and legislator. I took an oath to preserve, protect and defend the Constitution as Commander-in-Chief, and as a citizen, I know that we must never--ever--turn our back on its enduring principles for expedience sake.
Who cares? Who cares about Barack Obama's father, his mother, or his "own American journey"? Is his journey so noteworthy that it needs to be intruded into a presidential speech on weighty matters of constitutional law and public policy, of civil liberties and national security? After all, tens of millions of other Americans have ancestors who came to these shores in search of the promise of a better life.

Is that a trick question?;-)
ah, yes, but how temporarily in his own mind? After all, the Constitution has been amended before.
BO undoubtedly wonders whether Americans understand what a giant of a man they now have gracing our Presidency.
It's pretty clear that many of us think we have a midget of a man instead.
You left out the BARF ALERT.
Beware of politicians who “Wrap themselves in the Flag”
It’s all about Obama. He essentially ran on this platform, such as it is, because the radical leftists behind him knew that he could never get elected if he ran on their ideas. But he is such a void internally that he makes the perfect tool for them, because he himself has no values, no allegiances to anything other than himself.
He’s a sociopath who has risen to the sociopath’s ultimate dream, a position where he can choose and create the personality he lacks and have everyone forced to affirm it.
He is so full of himself that he just cannot stop talking about himself.
Courtesy mandates a Mega Barf alert on this post
“Is his journey so noteworthy that it needs to be intruded into a presidential speech on weighty matters of constitutional law and public policy, of civil liberties and national security? “
Um, have you figured out he’s a narcissist yet? I don’t mean in the general “vanity” way, but in the pyschological disorder that is frightening for a person like that to be in the most powerful position in the world?
He wrote TWO AUTOBIOGRAPHIES (ghost writer or not, they were about himself) before he DID ANYTHING.
Nuff said.
He says his mother work him up before dawn...to teach him the Constitution when he was in a foreign land. I wonder just how many days in his lifetime she did this....once? He didn’t learn very well the lst or 2nd ammendment rights, and nothing about guarantee abortion is mentioned in these documents...
*snicker*
I doubt it. From what I've read of the man, he came here in search of an easy woman.
My Struggle
There is no one alive who can affirm any of his childhood stories. It can be whatever he wants it to be.
Why doesn’t 0bama have his own archives room where we can all come to examine his foundational documents?
“My own American journey was paved by generations of citizens who gave meaning to those simple words—”to form a more perfect union.”
What a bunch of BO...
“My mother made me rise before dawn to learn of their truth when I lived as a child in a foreign land.”
Awww, isn’t that sweet? She was so caring and nurturing and DIDN’T WANT TO GO TO JAIL.
