ANNAPOLIS, Md. — Nobody protested President Obama’s commencement address Friday morning at the United States Naval Academy. Nobody told Mr. Obama he was undeserving of an honorary degree. Instead, under a nearly cloudless blue sky, the president was treated to a 21-gun salute, a Blue Angels flyover — and a respite from the controversy that has dogged him at two previous graduation ceremonies.

Certainly no member of the armed forces who just graduated from a military academy would be stupid enough to make a fool of himself by booing the CIC.

Typical cluelessness by the NYTimes. Midshipmen are under military discipline and will always provide an appropriate welcome to the Commander in Chief. They are also gentlemen and gentlewomen and will behave courteously and correctly to visitors to their hallowed campus. I doubt many of them voted for him. But that is beside the point.
