(May 20, 2009) - According to famed supermodel Iman, the lithe, Somalia-born fashionista married to rocker David Bowie, first lady Michelle Obama is not a great beauty.
In a recent interview with Parade magazine, the 53-year-old model and cosmetic line owner said, Mrs. Obama is not a great beauty. But she is so interesting looking and so bright. That will always take you farther. When youre a great beauty, its always downhill for you. If youre someone like Mrs. Obama, you just get better with age.
Despite the models comments, the first lady was recently named No. 3 on Maxim magazines top 100 hot celebrity womens list.
Iman also told Parade about the racism she encountered during her rise to fame in the 70s and 80s.

That’ll leave a mark.
Iman should remember a basic truism when talking of the first lady:
Beauty is only skin deep. Ugly goes to the bone.
But she is a big dude.
MO wishes she looked 1/1000th as good as Iman.
I'm beggin the b*tch not to thrill the moonbats with an @ss shot.
Is she still Mrs. David Bowie?
I think so, they’ve been together for ages.
Michelle makes Aunt Ester a beauty queen.
She is Crazy Aunt Esther..
someone had to say it...
All bow down before the Gilded Wookie!
Um, excuse me Iman, but who the hell asked you? And since when does a woman married to a guy that drank Mick Jagger’s man juice count for anything when it comes to the weight of opinion? Get lost you dizzy broad.
Then again, Michelle is married to a guy who drank Larry Sinclairs man juice.
I thought David Bowie was Mrs. Mick Jagger. I guess they stopped “experimenting” a while ago.
IMO, models I have known had IQs only slightly above room temperature. Iman would know "bright" if it bit her on her lovely a$$.
Nah. Angela Lindvall turned down a Rhodes Scholarship.
Just kidding - she dropped out of school at 14.
