the difference along party lines with regard to Israel is noteworthy and troubling

I agree on both counts. However, if the majority of Jews in this country vote Democrat, and apparently they do, it is entirely logical to assume that non-Jewish Democrats are also going to have little concern for Israel's security. Says little for the reasoning powers of the average leftie.

But no surprise. It's shown up consistently in polls of this type over the last decade or two.

If there were a racial breakdown, the difference in attitudes toward Israel would probably be even wider.
