Doing jobs robots can’t do.
The only problem with the shuttle is we never had enough
of them.

In. The second landing opportunity at KSC takes them right over Texas. Hope the weather’s good.

I disagree with your assertion. Humans make robots, and robots can do as well as humans because of that. Robots merely extend the reach of humans.
Also the space shuttle remains a death trap, a form of tech-russian-roulette that impedes development of real space exploration both human and robot assisted.

C’mon, the only useful thing the shuttle does
is to help take care of the
Hubble Telescope.
and even that is debateable,
as a portion of the Shuttle budget would
pay for a bunch of ‘launch-em-thats-it’
Hubble clones

the Shuttle is our heavy lift vehicle. without it a lot of the ISS is not in place.
(I am not a fan of the ISS....it is globalism at is best and it should have been the USSS. )
that being said it is America being ahead of the rest of the world and it is necessary for out future to move forward....whereas his royal highness Barack Hussein Obama wants us to be a third world power and apologizes for everything we do. The money we spend on it is a pittance compared to what the Turd in Chief is literally throwing in the toilet.

11:39 is the next possible landing at KSC. after that it is a few days pushed back and for these folks to be able to enjoy the view for a few more days, without all the hard work is probably better than any vacation imaginable.

The original plan was one launch a week with a month turnaround for the 4 shuttle fleet. Congress didn't fund the upgrades necessary to support this flight schedule. Each shuttle had a one hundred flight lifetime and then a new space craft would be designed, built and to replace the "old" shuttles.
Now NASA is going to replace the fleet with Apollo era capsules. If NASA has its way in the N Aeronautical S A replacement regime the BA-747 will be replaced by the
