About 78% of American Jews are liberals, but they don't vote like other groups of liberals. Believe it or not, America's policies towards Israel and her enemies are what drive their choices....was taught in public school that the Crusades were all about Christian aggression towards nonbelievers, Jews and Muslims alike.

IMO you're wrong about voting, American Jews vote largely on domestic issues. The fact is there is very little difference in the parties policies toward Israel, thus far Obama is following in GWB's footsteps, and liberals who think America can successfully negotiate with her enemies will support the idea that Israel can and should do the same. Hostility toward Jews, as expressed by the Carter and Bush I administrations, yes, that can change the vote, but at this point we're in the post Bush I period. The Crusades, lot's of aggression, but it was about maintaining the right of Christians to revisit the Holy Land. Some things don't change.

Jews voted for Reagan in 1980 and against Carter because of Jimmy’s anti-Israel policies. Jews voted for Clinton over Bush Senior in 1996 because of Bubba’s Oslo “Peace” Accords (in addition to his economy fix). Jews voted for Dubya in 2004 because of his strong support of Israel, his smackdown of Iran’s and Iraq’s state-sponsored terrorism against Israel, and for his removal of Saddam from power — a major, existential threat to Israel.

So, why did Jews not vote for Dubya in 2000?

Your call.
