Did House Speaker Nancy Pelosi step into a political quagmire during her press conference on the Bush Administration's torture tactics? Yes. Will President Obama's agenda lose momentum now that this "who said what and when" drama will suck oxygen out of the presidents tailwind? Almost certainly. Will there now be some type of independent commission established to investigate the treatment of war prisoners during the Bush/Cheney reign? Count on it. Who will suffer the greatest political damage from all this? Without question the Republican Party.

"Will Republicans never learn? Do they really believe that Middle America cares about what Nancy Pelosi knew and when she knew it? If so they will be in for a stunning lesson in the old "be careful what you ask for" school of dumb desires."
Translation: Will Republicans never learn? Do they really believe that Middle America still has any morals left and cares about what Nancy Pelosi knew and when she knew it?

I hope Bob Beckel’s assistance will do for Nancy Pelosi what it did for Walter Mondale.

Baghdad Bob Beckel is scared.

The GOP has to learn to demonize and belittle their enemies. Making Pelosi the campaign issue in 2010 will give the GOP 30-40 seats back,

I have seen this man for years, and while I have heard worse than him during the 8 yr Bush Administration, I have not heard worse since inauguration day ‘09. I cannot listen to this man anymore, it is just nauseating.

Bottom line is that unless the press chooses to keep reporting on it ... it will go away. That’s what DEMS do..they ride it out...Nothing’s going to happen.. We are on the downhill slide and nothing will stop it.

Impeaching Clinton was foolhardy. There was no way there were going to be 67 votes to convict.
However, embarrassing Pelosi is not foolhardy. Rather, attempting to prosecute Cheney for "war crimes" would be as foolhardy as attempting to prosecute Clinton, especially if it's clear that Pelosi committed the same crimes.
With numbers that small Republicans could qualify for Affirmative Action Grants under civil rights law.
OK, where do we sign up?

She is more qualified to be speaker than Obama is to be President. I don’t care about here qualification, I just care about who will mess up the far-left radical agenda the most. And Pelosi is the best person for that job.
