Specter is a democrat...
Specter is a democrat...
THANK GOD ALMIGHTY...
Specter is a democrat!!!
At least we don’t have to hide our heads when specter speaks anymore. He’s an admitted freek’n socialist from the word go. I’m tickled that he is gone from the republican party.
hahah a turncoat challenging the CIA’s veracity about the actions of a Traitor? Hahahahaha... Yea, that’ll carry a lot of water.
Spectaclehole.
In my mind they're already there, but...
or to Follow Arlen in defending Pelousy??
...that's what I meant. Take the one PR point that the Republicans have going for them and undermine it.
Make room on for waterboard for Specter.
Me too. Arlen's switch has raised the IQ of both parties.
“a turncoat challenging the CIAs veracity about the actions of a Traitor”
He didn’t really even do that. He simply made the observation (that no one challenges) that in the long ago past, the CIA wasn’t truthful with Congress. But then when he turned to TODAY’S CIA, he said:
“Director [Leon] Panetta says the agency does not make it a habit to misinform Congress. I believe that is true. It is not the policy of the Central Intelligence Agency to misinform Congress,” Specter said. “But that doesn’t mean that they’re all giving out the information.”
The issue between Pelosi and CIA isn’t about CIA failing to divulge some sort of information. It’s an issue about CIA lying about who they briefed and when they briefed them. If Pelosi was insisting she was AT a briefing and the CIA refused to confirm or deny, then Specter’s comments would be relevant.
So even though the reporter writing the story would like you to walk about believing that Specter had provided yet another refutation of the CIA’s account, those who read between the lines should be able to see that what Specter did was the equivalent of damning Pelosi with faint praise.
Instead of saying “my records show that Nancy Pelosi was not present at the September briefing” Specter essentially said: a) CIA has lied in the past (no one denies this); b) he believes Panetta’s claim that today’s CIA does not misinform Congress (that claim certainly does NOT support Pelosi’s worldview); and c) the CIA doesn’t tell everything it knows (again, no one denies this; moreover, no one ever claimed the opposite, so his introducing this line of thinking literally was nonsensical).
I’m no admirer of Specter’s and I have no idea about his intentions. But assessed carefully, I believe his words provide far more support for the CIA’s account than for Pelosi’s even though that’s not the way the MSM is spinning this.
What a whore. Playing to the lefties for the primary...
