Ads Launched on Radical Records of Potential Obama Supreme Court Nominees

One ad focuses on Judge Diane Wood, a member of the federal 7th Circuit Court of Appeals, who has a long history of taking the pro-abortion side when it comes to pro-life issues.

Wood ruled against bans on partial-birth abortion in cases involving legislation from Wisconsin and Illinois. She joined the federal court in ruling that Wisconsin's law was unconstitutional under the Supreme Court's first ruling on partial-birth abortions in 2000.

Judge Wood also ruled in favor of abortion advocates by allowing them to misuse the RICO law designed to control mob activities to sue pro-life protesters.

"Wood ruled that peaceful abortion demonstrators should be punished under the same law that applies to mob bosses," the JCN ad says. "The 1st Amendment allows Nazis to march in Skokie, Illinois [Wood ruled]. But, apparently in Diane Wood’s court, opponents of abortion or students who share religious faith get less protection for their expression."

"When Wood’s decision to discriminate against peaceful demonstrators came before the very court President Obama might appoint her to, the Supreme Court unanimously rejected Wood’s position," the ad continues. "America deserves better."

A second ad highlights Sonia Sotomayor, a Hispanic judge on the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit.

"Judging by her 100% reversal rate as a court of appeals judge, the chances don't look good for this potential Obama nominee," the ad explains.

I didn't know that Diane Wood was that radical. But I did know that Sonia Sotomayer’s rulings and writings are very undistinguished.

It isn’t nice to question the wishes of our Fascist dictator. If he wants a mentally deficient, loony radical on his Supreme Court, that’s what he should have.

Otherwise he’ll scream and whine and bang his head on the floor in a tantrum; like any two year-old.

These may all be a misdirection for the real person they intend to put on the court. Float out some names of extremists to see if anybody bites, make the opposition spend their time and energy complaining about them, and then shove the real person they want down our throats at the last minute.

Kind of like telling us bad news on Fridays to avoid the weekly news cycle. It feels like this is being "managed".

I’m beginning to think that we’re barking up the wrong tree. I read that Deval Patrick was meeting with Obama (or has already). I wasn’t clear on what they were meeting over. Picking Patrick would be monumentally stupid given his disapproval ratings in MA (yes, incompetance should be an issue).

Not only would Patrick’s incompetence be an issue, but his views, as well. He’s an extremist moonbat.

Just the kind obama will pick. And the Senate will confirm at the worst 95 to 5 Confirmation.

With Obama's likely slate of nominees the views will largely be the same. It will be the differences among them we will need to highlight (i.e., Patrick's incompetence).

“It will be the differences among them we will need to highlight (i.e., Patrick’s incompetence).”

Good point. Wood is the eldest among them (pushing 60) and the most experienced. And it’s said that she’s quite the scholar, kind of a female, far-left version of William Rehnquest.

Given that, it would be very difficult to derail someone like Wood. It would be far easier to derail Sotomayor or Patrick for the reasons already stated. I don’t think he will pick Wood though. I would think he sees her as too old and with too much “Catholic” around her.
