If Romney gets on the ticket, the Republicans are going to lose, because there are going to be signficant numbers of Christians who are not going to vote for a cult-group member.

I agree with you on what Steele was trying to say. He is right. I saw what happened in my State of Oklahoma when Istook, the Mormon, lost almost 2-1 (a few hundred votes shy of actual 2-1). I had people who voted reliably Republican that were going to vote for Istook until they discovered he was Mormon and no way to seal that deal. It is a fact of life. If Romney couldn’t beat McCain, he will never get the nomination.
