They may worship a savior who was crucified by the Romans, but 62 percent of white evangelical Protestants believe torture of suspected terrorists is justified...

I'm constantly amazed at the level of anti-Christian bigotry that is deemed acceptable in the mainstream media.
HEHEHE...they are really getting desperate...
BUSH killed JESUS!!!!!
Fools...
Unless you use icicles as nails, it’s pretty hard to crucify someone with a jug of water....
...so they’re trying to say that Jesus was a thug who blew up innocent people and murdered children all for the sake of spreading his religion?
I don’t remember anything like that in the Bible....
Is this the Pew Poll again?
The one that polled 700 or so white Christians? What did they do, go to one big church?
I cannot believe such a poor poll, with a low sample is being widely used to hate on Christians.
I didn’t attack the USA and kill 3000 Americans, so the terrorists weren’t being waterboarded for my sins. The comparison is lost on me.
I didn’t know terrorists could save me from my sins.
I love this argument. Its a great opportunity to deconstruct the radical nihilist Left.
Secular Leftists like to reconstruct Jesus as a neo-anarchist-pacifist. Its not true.
Some counter points:
1. Jesus affirmed the faith of a Roman soldier as the greatest in all of Israel. That public description was an absolute slap in face of the anti Roman imperialists and a repudiation of his own disciples hostile attitudes toward soldiers in general and the Roman government in particular.
2. Jesus paid taxes to the Roman government. Another slam on the anti imperialists.
3. Jesus failed to attack the Roman government during his crucifixion and trial. He did not indict the process of capital punishment.
4. Jesus rejected efforts to make him an earthly King to replace the romans.
5. He refused to condemn the Roman government as serpents or white washed tombs. He did not use any of the harsh rhetoric found in the gospels in attacks on the Roman military or government.
I think the super pacifist story of Jesus is vastly over rated by the Left.
Actually I'm constantly amazed at the false equivalency and/or lack of proportion by many in the left and some on the right for that matter. Some of it is intentional and some of it I'm afraid is the result of people who have trouble with comparative analysis.
There’s no point arguing with somebody who compares the cruxification of Christ to the punishment of terrorists. This David Horsey is a real jerk.
If God forbid we ever lose a city this nonsense about water boarding will stop. We will then carry out interrogation that will make water boarding look like afternoon tea. Let’s pray we never get to this point.
just another fruitcake in Seattle. There’s no end of that sort of folk. Eventually North Korea will resolve everyone’s problem.
I absolutely agree. And idiot terrorist apologists like David Horsey do nothing but make such an event more likely.
Jesus didn’t kill anyone nor conspire to kill anyone.
Libtards will never get it.
I don’t recall Jesus and his Disciples strapping a Roman to a chair and sawing off his screaming head with a dull, rusty ceremonial sword.
But hey. It could be me.
Wasn't that in the Book of Mark? Wait, no...must have been on Broadway.
“I dont recall Jesus and his Disciples strapping a Roman to a chair and sawing off his screaming head with a dull, rusty ceremonial sword.
But hey. It could be me.”
Book of ludicrous....the gospel of Munchausen.
Most galling is people who don’t believe in God or Christ using scripture as a political tool.
For example Obama’s biblical Corinthians reference in his inauguration.
Obama, who is a disciple of Saul Alinsky (who dedicated his book to Lucifer), who believes in the murder of a living child who survives an abortion, whose political mentor’s wife rhapsodized worshipfully on how great it was that a murdered pregnant woman had a fork stuck into her lifeless corpse by one of her murderers.
If someone could read this just twenty years ago, they would think I am an absolute delusional lunatic, that I could say this about a sitting President of the United States.
But if someone can refute just one...ONE of the things I have outlined above, I will have the Obama logo tattooed on my ass.
Folks, is it me? Has this country gone insane?
