In his address to the 2009 graduating class at the University of Notre Dame, President Barack Obama said yesterday that he supports conscience rights for healthcare workers. Lets honor the conscience of those who disagree with abortion, he said, and draft a sensible conscience clause, and make sure that all of our health care policies are grounded in clear ethics and sound science, as well as respect for the equality of women.
Catholic League president Bill Donohue applauded the president:
Last August, the Bush administration strengthened the conscience rights of healthcare workers in a new set of guidelines issued by the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS). But in March the Obama administration said it was going to rescind these rights. It specifically said, The Department [HHS] is proposing to rescind in its entirety the final rule.
Thus far, no final decision has been made. But given what President Obama said yesterday, it seems clear that he is now prepared to rescind the decision that was made rescinding conscience rights. For this he should be commended. We look forward to reading the revised proposal.

Stop being so damned naive; don't waste praise on a child who changes his mind so often that he makes Jon Carry look like an unyielding man of principle.
If I were you, I wouldn't risk my credibility until The First Thug's 'promises' become actual law. Because if you go out on a limb to praise him, you'll find that he's back at the trunk, happily sawing away that limb you're standing on.
It’s not actually Obama thinking these things up. Rather, it’s his oberfuhrer Axelrod.
When he makes comments about setting up better rules of conscience, you can certainly bet that’s according to his own vision of reason on the matter. That’s where it breaks down IMO. We shall see.
His flip flops have been interesting of late. While I don’t think he’s going to return to exactly what we want him to do, he hasn’t been able to do exactly what the left wants him to do either.
This guy is caught in the headlights... and this is just the beginning.
Are we to trust a bunch of pro-aborts to come up with a “sensible” conscience clause?
Why would we? They believe abortion is “sensible” as a choice. There will be nothing sensible at all about any conscience clause they develop.
Imagine what it’s like to watch Barry drive a car.
He guns it down the road ,
then screeches to a halt and goes in reverse and then stops and spins his wheels.
Then he jumps out of the car while it drives around and around in circles.
Meanwhile, the media stands by the roadside and applauds his driving skills.
awesome.
Dont forget that he runs over a few people here n there as well.
BHO: “what was that?”
Emanuel: “nothing”
ROTFLMAO !
Lets honor the conscience of those who disagree with abortion, he said, and draft a sensible conscience clause, and make sure that all of our health care policies are grounded in clear ethics and sound science, as well as respect for the equality of women.

HUH? I want this idiot drafting a conscience clause to do what???? 37 years in health care and I have worked out this issue in my own mind, no government assistance needed. I don’t help kill people! Would this place me on Zero’s hit list? I sure hope so!
Yes we look forward to see what is drawn up. I pray his heart is truly changed on this even though I don’t trust him in the least. Nor do I think if he does make these changes that it is selfless. Everything Obama does it all about Obama.
If the resident truly means “and make sure that all of our health care policies are grounded in clear ethics”, well then:
The United States Government should take that grounding to heart, and immediately get the government and the tax payer out of the business of funding and promoting the death of innocent children by abortion.
That is a position grounded in clear ethics.
