With all due respect to this author and others, this is a bit of a reach. It assumes that the alumni will abandon Notre Dame and not try to move them back to the teachings of the church. I’m not ready to acknowledge the death of Notre Dame’s Catholicism just yet.

But alumni has witheld over 14 million $$.

To me that’s huge. I pray they keep it up!

It really does depend on how Catholic you want your University. ND has the barest imprimatur of Catholicism, and does not, as the authentically Catholic colleges and universities, teach to the Mandatum.
