Acknowledging what the blogosphere has known for weeks, the New York Times finally went on record to admit that just before last Election Day it killed a politically sensitive news story involving corruption allegations that might have made the Obama campaign look bad.
But the admission on Sunday, which came seven months after NYT staff reporter Stephanie Strom's reporting about possibly illegal coordination between the Obama campaign and ACORN last year, took the form of a snarky column from Clark Hoyt, the Old Gray Lady's "public editor." Hoyt used the word "nonsense" to describe the allegations of impropriety leveled against ACORN and the Obama campaign.

How much money is ACORN getting from the surplus money? Was it 4 billion?
It’s end can’t come soon enough.
We had ACORN voter fraud in Okalahoma City to try and keep Republicans from taking over the OK Senate for the first time in history.
Ask yourself why ZERO would have two campaign offices in OK when this state was obviously going red. It is not hard to connect the dots when you realize they were in two areas of the State where they thought they could tip the races for the OK Senate to the Dems — Tulsa and Oklahoma City. Someone was calling the shots and doesn’t take a genius to figure out where it was coming.
Every County in OK including some heavily Dem counties went for McCain. Kerry was smart enough not to put offices in OK but then his campaign didn’t run ACORN. My bet is Axelrod set up the offices and where they wanted ACORN to function.
The worst was Gov Crist in FL saying they didn’t have much ACORN voter fraud when Mickey, Minnie, Donald, et al were voting and then to top it off he didn’t see any problem with felons voting against the law. Crist — don’t need or want him in the Senate from FL — one Specter was enough. That doesn’t even include the well over 100,000+++ people that cast ballots in three states including FL. Election boards are more then willing to count ACORN fraudulent ballots but not military ballots in FL and elsewhere.
.... and the silence is deafening.
So where is the story now including of course the 4 billion given to them by our national legislators and Obama?
As a 501, tax exempt organization, they are to remain nonpartisan in their activities.
How is it that they broke some laws, technically?
Both campaigns and Acorn flat out broke the law and this should be investigated.
RICO ? What RICO ?
I use to live in Tulsa and I don’t see how they could clip enough votes to even matter.
OK is very Republican/Conservative and the rural cities even more so.
With 300,000 voters in those two cities there is no way they could find enough fraud to make a difference much less overcome the rest of the voters in OK which would amount to about 500,000.
So it is odd to set up office in a state you are absolutely going to lose.
Where was their office, in North Tulsa? Or is that to easy of a guess?

They did it in Oklahoma for the OK Senate. We had two Senate seats that were rumored to be close and it made no sense as one of them in OKC has won by a large margin. Thanks to ACORN, he only won by 70+ votes. It was that close when it had not been before.
ZERO could never win the State but the DemocRATs have controlled the State Election Board and the counties for years as they had control of the Senate. They wanted to keep Republicans from gaining control of the OK Senate by any means necessary so in comes ACORN to help.
We had an ACORN office in Norman at one time and in 2004 we scrubbed the voter roles for a House District Rep I was helping. I was shocked at the number of people on the roles that we couldn’t find. At least the election board removed them from the roles, but have to wonder if they came back in 2006 when that State Rep lost by not that many votes.
ACORN left this side of the State several years ago and a lot of us were shocked to find out they had set up shop in the Hispanic area of OKC this election. Not sure where they are in Tulsa.
Mark Shannon, KTOK radio, said that Industrial Areas Foundation, IAF, is infiltrating church groups here in OKC. It’s a Saul Allinsky, ACORN type group, not sure what they want.
Funny.
The liberal media “claims” it reports all of the news about “all” of the important liberal scandals and hypocrisies.
This must not have been important.
I am not shocked as the Dems are in a frenzy here with the GOP taking over both houses of the legislature and looking to control the Governor’s office in Jan 2011. Brad Henry (ZERO lover) and the DemocRATs here will do almost almost anything to keep that form happening which is why the GOP Grassroots have to get very active in 2010 and defeat all the DemocRAT candidates we can.
Time for the GOP to take back the State Government starting with the Governor!
If “spiking” a story is antithesis to journalism, then maybe the NYTs is not a “news” paper.
MAYBE it is ad copy for the DNC?
...and MAYBE New, York and Times is a marketing firm with the DNC as their largest client?
ACORN is going to be BIG in inflating the 2010 census results: expect anywhere from 15% to 35% more illegals than we “thought” were present to be counted.
Well their office in Tulsa is in the North or somewhere around Pine and Garnett. Those are the only places that make sense.
