An Interruption | 3:08 p.m. A lone protester shouted, and then a chant erupted to follow soon after Mr. Obama began speaking.
As police officers took the protester away, much of the stadium cheered his removal. A few moments later, another single protester began shouting Abortion is murder. The crowd erupted with loud boos directed at the heckler and then broke into loud chanting of Mr. Obamas campaign slogan, Yes, we can.
Were fine, everybody, President Obama said, calming the students, some of whom had stood up. He continued to ad-lib based on the theme of his speech, saying: Were not going to shy away from things that are uncomfortable.
Earlier, the president of Notre Dame, the Rev. John Jenkins, had introduced him by saying that President Obama is not one to stop talking to those who differ with him.

Yes they can murder. Infants now.
Others later.
Their grandparents, likely, will be next.
“Yes we can!”
And it wasn’t even sarcasm
Notre Dame University should be excommunicated...in toto!
So much for protecting babies. The liberal American Catholic Church and Notre Dame sicken me. The left is loving this.
Why weren't the other "chanters" taken away too? They were just as much a disturbance.
By the way, where were the other protesters? Were they outside? Why no acknowledgement of them?
By the way, the three men who spoke up loudly against Obama were detained for about ten minutes and then released.
They had tickets. :-)
There were many heroes today, and they are on that list!
HUGE EYE ROLL. Oh puhleeeez. More precisely, "Pres--ent Thug is one to stop those from talking who differ from him."
Liar. Then why does it seem like any time things get hot in Washington, you run away to Hollywood to yuk it up with Leno and make fun of Special Olympics children?
Planned Grandparenthood clinics coming soon to your neighborhood. Take Granny there and send her off in style, Obama style. AARP will no longer exist. They stupidly voted for a guy who wanted them all dead.

As a former Catholic and now atheist who's as strongly anti-abortion as ever, this kind of sentence really saddens me. I guess one of the few things I have in common with Catholics isn't all that common.
There is a heaven and there is judgement. We may lose on earth, but never in heaven. If a woman wants to kill her unborn, what will she say to him when she meets him in heaven and now must explain to God why she did what she did? Will she tell the one she met in heaven that is the heavenly body of her unborn, that it was a very personal decision to kill him before he was born? Love to sit in on that conversation. Why did you kill me mother? I uh, uh, uh, uh, sob, sob, I don’t know why, it was a tough decision to make, it was very personal, you can never understand, my career, my freedom, I was not ready??? Remember, Hell will be fill with people knashing their teeth lamenting to themselves why they did not do the right thing, when the right thing was a simple thing.

I hear you. What is sad or pathetic is that a school representing a church cannot do the simple thing. The Catholic Church faced down the USSR and did it’s best against Hitler and other tyrants. What happened today was truly sickening.
The interruption was classless. This is a graduation ceremony, and regardless of how you feel about the speaker I would think you would not want to spoil the day for the families in attendance to see their child graduate.
Incidentally, since it was a packed house for families only, I’m guessing the man who tried to shout down the president missed his child’s/grandchild’s graduation ceremony.
Sad.
He should never have been invited to speak at ND. They could have gotten Hugo Chavez a lot cheaper and, they'd have been closer to the original rather than this cheap knock-off of a socialist.
LOL. But Obambi did quote Lenin. Something like "Nothing is too difficult," or some such thing. Gee, our true-blue American President quotes the arch enemy of our nation!!! Complete with huge grin and Mussolini chin-in-the-air arrogance!!
Heh, Orwell couldn't write this stuff!!!
Pardon me while I HURL.
News report I saw earlier stated as the person was being lead away the grads started chanting â We are Notre Dame.â Nothing said about âYes we can.â
I cried last year when they closed half the Catholic churches for lack of attendance, seeing it as the loss of an institution that promotes morality. Now I understand that there is no there there any more at the Catholic Church.
