Anybody have any experience collecting on those policies during past quakes?

Um, you sure you want to hear?? I worked in college as a proofreader at a law firm defending insurance companies from paying out after a big earthquake. There were some cases where the house was destroyed due to flooding, and the flooding was caused by the earthquake breaking something, and the insurance company WON and did not have to pay because the destruction was not caused DIRECTLY by the earthquake.

That figures, it’s like the hurricane damages, was it wind or water? I’m glad this one was not so bad, damage wise.

I did realize that I badmouthed all my animals last night for not giving notice that the shaker was coming, but later realized that the dog had uncharacteristically stuck to me like glue all yesterday (am recovering from several surgeries). She returned to continue her vigil all night, so I take back that the dog was lazy, but the cats did nothing to give warning. Dog: 1 Cats:0
