Just turned 43 last a couple weeks ago. I’ve seen the name Portola on some streets and landmarks and such. Maybe it’s the same guy?

Probably one and the same. I remember him from the old public school California History classes.

Now they teach about Harvey Milk and Harry Hay, instead. :-(
