Thanks for the Ping, Global2010. It was a hard shake here for it only being a 4.7 Magnitude. There have been reports from people in Flagstaff, Arizona, Reno, Nevada and Santa Fe, New Mexico who reported that they also felt this 4.7 earthquake.
There have been reports of broken windows in Long Beach. KCAL 9 showed live news video of a Long Beach street with broken glass and debris in the middle. Also South Bay Galleria had broken windows, falling ceiling tiles in the AMC theater, and one report of a movie screen falling.
The fault line for this earthquake is the same as the 1933 Long Beach 6.2 Magnitude earthquake where 120 people, including five children lost their lives.
Earthquake Ping List. If you would like to have your name added to this list or removed from it, please FReepmail me.

Isn’t this the same fault that caused the Whittier quake of 87? Lived there back then- that was scary

Thanks for the ping...started a thread...see just above with the misspelled title...I’ll blame it on the shaking.

Is that Santa Anita Racetrack?
Was it just North of the Santa Monica Freeway (I-10 near the I-405 San Diego Freeway interchange)...

Actually heard it more than felt it in Glendale.

You would think that after 9 hours and 115 posts, someone would have added a few more details to the title.

The quake didn’t wake ‘em up. As a former Geologist let me simply note that one tectonic shift potentially triggers additional guakes as stress points shift along the fault lines. Meaning more to come that might disturb their sweet dreams.

Glad to know I’m not the only one with a pet peeve about that. How hard would it have been for the original poster to have added “in California” in the first place? Sheesh.
