IMHO, this is the direct result of liberalism. You get people with diseased minds in charge, and this is the result. My problem, again, is with the complicit police forces around the country (State, county, local) which are “just following orders” and enforcing these laws.

1) "Domestic violence" *does* occur.I learned this during my 20 year stint on the staff of a big city ER.Sometimes the result isn't particularly bad.A cut...a bruise.Sometimes it's murder (I've seen it).These things clearly shouldn't happen.Not even the "minor" ones.Except in cases of self defense there's never a legitimate reason for a guy to physically harm a woman.
As a lifelong resident of the Gay State I can attest to the filthy,despicable mindset of all-too-many of this state's residents.I'm sure that at least *some* guys here are wronged...seriously wronged....by the states "protection" laws...particularly given the greed and venom of all-too-many women...and lawyers...here.That homosexual "victim's advocate" clearly believes that *all* men are beasts and that *all* women tell the truth regarding protection orders.
I think the (female) lawyer put it best....in at least some cases a request for a protection order is just a form of extortion by the woman and her lawyer.
Do at least some....and,most likely,*most*...women who request protection orders in this state truly have reason to fear their filthbag husbands/boyfriends? Of course. But not all do.But in Massachusetts,at least,there's not a damn thing that can be done because of the filthbag voters...and politicians...and judges of this state.
The problem isnt with the Police per se. The last thing in the world you want is police deciding which laws they will ignore. The problem is squarely with the feminist pandering political leaders.
Every pound of blame we place on the police for the shameful treatment of fathers and men in domestic situations, relieves a politician of the guilt they bear.
With one small caveat, a police CHIEF is almost always a politician, not a cop.
The VAW act has made a cottage industry of harassing men and squeezing them. It is now routine to get a restraining order in most divorces. No one questions whether the women is telling the truth. It is extorsion and then that arrest stays on the victims record. It can destroy their chance of employment.
We’ve been thru this with a nephew. He finally ended up with custody of his kids, because his ex got convicted of fraud and theft. But without 20k in legal bills..he would have lost and been in jail himself.
The system is evil and destructive of families.
It also means that you must be very aggressive in dealing with a spose. Take action first. Put them in legal jeopardy any way you can. Dog eat Dog.
Although I see your point, exonerating complicit police officers completely is also not the right answer. A “few pounds of blame” should be directed at the police who “follow orders” in return for a paycheck while at the same time, a” few tons of blame” should be poured on those politicians.
