Thats the standard answe I get. The problem is that its in a goverment data base and can be abused by goverment.

For example, I can take your personal photograph without you knowing it, and post it all over the internet.Everyone can see it, just as on google anyone can find an individual GPS location.

But if the government has everyones photo is a government data base, it can be misused for very nefarious purposes, it just doesn't need to have them , there is no logical purpose except for surveillance.

Surely you must see that difference.

Generally people are falling into your logic which makes a perfect government cover for setting up a GPS surveillance data base, which is exactly what the census GPS data is.

I’m not sure what you mean by a GPS surveillance database. Your address is a public record and has always been since paper and pencils were invented. What difference does it make if the government has the GPS coordinates to your house or not? The coordinates are irrelevant, what counts is your address and they have that already. In fact, they’ve always had it.
