Republicans salute Obama's military tack [basically Lindsay Graham gushes over 0bama]
The Washington Times ^ | 2009-05-16 | Stephen Dinan

Even as congressional Democrats feuded last week with the CIA in what at times seemed to be a throwback to the 1970s, President Obama was headed in the other direction in what may have been his most active week yet as commander in chief.

He pushed through the House a spending bill to finance the war in Afghanistan and reversed himself, deciding to fight the release of photos purportedly showing humiliating treatment of detainees in Iraq and Afghanistan.

Mr. Obama also announced he would have some detainees at the U.S. Naval Base Guantanamo Bay, Cuba, tried by military commissions, putting him at odds with much of his liberal political base, but winning striking praise from Republicans who contrasted his sober decisions against the accusations of House Speaker Nancy Pelosi that the CIA has lied to her and Congress continually.

"I think you see the difference between a man who understands the war and the threat and a politician who is bent on political revenge," said Sen. Lindsey Graham, South Carolina Republican.

"What's driving Nancy Pelosi is this hatred of [former President George W.] Bush, and being in bed with the hard left," Mr. Graham said. "Contrast that with the president of the United States, who's making some pretty intelligent, well-reasoned decisions about trying to clean up the old system but not throwing it out."

Apparently Goober is too stupid to notice the difference between a man and a teleprompter.

"...this hatred of [former President George W.] Bush, and being in bed with the hard left..."

Is he sure that he's talking about Pelosi or about his mentor Juan?

Well, Goober does go a long way over the top. But, if we don’t give a little bit of credit when it’s due from time to time, we’d be acting like the Democrats through Bush’s terms.

What a JAG-off.

P.T. Barnum said there’s a sucker born every minute.

I think only there’s only one with a birth date of July 9, 1955.

Lindsay Graham is an “all-day” sucker.

When is Goober up for re-election? Unfortunately, he was just reelected last fall.

My guess is his peple[sic] will vote him out. Didn't happen last fall. Although there's some talk the powers that be ran a weak candidate (Buddy Witherspoon) against Lindsey in the primary.

He is sickening. Could not agree more!

I really wish Graham would shut the f*** up. Unlike the democrats, Republican have figured out that terrorists are the enemy and that our attitude should be take no prisoners. The democrats play the game the same way against the Rublicans but want to coddle terrorist. The Republicans need to understand that it is all out political war against the democrats and act accordingly - not like some pansy ass appeaser.

What Graham should be pointing out is what Obama said as a candidate and how he has flip-flopped 180 degrees. And use the term “Flip-flop” because it has the worst possible connotation and is used repeatedly by the MSM to criticize Republican candidate. Graham you’re an idiot. The idea is to do what you need to do within the bounds of the rules to point out how the other side is unfit to lead. Get with the F****** progam.

When two groups of people are fighting, and one group is playing dirty and the other isn't-- I don't like the group playing fair's chances.

I'm not so sure Goober is wrong on this one. Either he's an Ubama butt-wiper or he's crazy like a fox.

The only thing that can drive anti-military, anti-American, left-wing wackos even wackier is to have Republicans praise Pres--ent Ubama for actually engaging in warfare.

It’s a real tossup who can kiss Obama’s ass better, Graham or McCain. They both have proven abilities at the task.

True, but McCain is trying to get re-elected.

One can only wonder if that's the reason he himself is fairly quiet but his "surrogates"--particularly the women in his family--are frequently yapping away.
