Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu will refuse on his trip to Washington to back the formation of a Palestinian state, an MP close to the premier said on Saturday, according to national radio. Netanyahu "will not make a commitment to Washington on the creation of a Palestinian state which would undoubtedly become a 'Hamastan'," Ophir Akunis from Netanyahu's right-wing Likud party was quoted as saying, referring to the Islamic movement Hamas which controls the Gaza Strip and favours armed struggle against Israel.
The hawkish prime minister is scheduled to arrive in Washington on Sunday ahead of his maiden meeting with US President Barack Obama since the two men took office this year.
The key meeting takes place against a backdrop of disagreements over the Middle East conflict and how to deal with Iran's nuclear programme.
While Netanyahu has repeatedly refused to endorse the creation of a sovereign Palestinian state, Obama is insisting on a "two-state solution" to solve the Israeli-Palestinian crisis."
Obama also wants the new Israeli government to halt new building work in Jewish settlements on the occupied West Bank but Netanyahu has said he wants to expand existing settlements.

obambi is going to try to advise Bebe on foreign policy and security issues? BWAA HAA HAA! I hope Bebe can keep a straight face better than I can.
Thank goodness for our allies like Bibi, Sarko, Merkel, Kalus (czech repub) Harper in Canada and to a lesser exten Berlasconi.
These more conservatve politicians hopefully will keep smacking down Hussein.
Yeah BeBe - hang tough buddy - never let (the other) Hussein get you down. We’re all behind you!
Given some sixty years or so to act, the grandparents and parents of the current horde of nomadic peasants of Arabic descent have never, of their own volition, come together, and said, “We will raise a nation here.” It is not, and never has been, the presence of Israel that has in any PREVENTED the Palestinian Arabs from acting unilaterally and forming their own government, with the duties and services that governments everywhere must provide in some measure. The whole focus of the Palestinian Authority has always been to throw the “Zionists” off the land, and continue in their old drifter nomadic ways, developing none of the resources at hand, but allowing the land to lie fallow, the existing structures allowed to dry up, crumble, and blow away in the dust.
About as an “anti-life” position as anyone could take. Yeah, I can see where that would appeal to the nascent obama regime.
Why wouldn't he back one in, say, Delaware?

Thanks to Google Maps and Google Earth, anyone can take a look at greater Israel and clearly and plainly see that on the Israeli side of the “border” is greenery and industry, and on the “Palestinean” side is dirt, decay, slums, and nothingness.
Also from Gaza all the way north are ports, obvious vacation resorts with beaches and boats, and more.
From the Gaza border south, again, there is nothing.
There might be some minor argument that the “Palestineans” are somehow (mysteriously) burdened by the Israelis, were it not for the undeniable fact that this desolation, laziness, and complete lack of human industry is in practice everywhere throughout the Arab Muslim world. Everywhere!
I hope Bibi doesn’t bend this time, he has before.
I take comfort from what Krauthammer said yesterday, that there will be a dust up with BO & Bibi, and Bibi will not back down on taking care of business but will agree to tell BO before he does anything.
I see plenty of wriggle room in there . . . ooops, you didn’t get my tweet about the bombing raids, so sorry . . .
That’s already there. Israel and Jordan.
I personally favor Antarctica but San Francisco might be a good alternative. Pelosi Galore can put them up..
ML/NJ
Sounds good.
