I think they have a delay on registering the number of hits the video gets.
I was thinking the counter depended upon unique addresses, but the count is still at 792. One of the posters made a comment about it.
I just went and watched a few moments ago, and the count is now 8,892.
As for the delay — just so people are aware, it’s not just this video. I’ve noticed “count delays” or whatever it is many times before on videos on a wide range of subjects. Don’t know why that is, or why they do that though...
As for re-watching the video - I think it only still gives you credit for “one view”. I have noticed (at least when I’m signed in to my YouTube account) that there is a “record” of videos you’ve watched... For instance, if I search for something and watch one video, then us the “back browser button” to the search results it will say “Previously viewed” at the result for the one I just watched.
This is something I’ve wondered about, but it also may be that when certain videos start getting numerous hits, it may still count, but not update right away or something. Perhaps it’s a computer program thing to prevent the counter from being overwhelmed? WHO knows! LOL Just my opinion on that...
