"Fr. Norm" - 80-Year-Old Priest Arrsted, Jailed at Notre Dame
YouTube ^ | May 16, 2009 | Pass the Salt

Posted on 05/16/2009 6:57:23 AM PDT by Mrs. Don-o

Here is the video of Fr. Norm Weslin's arrest by University of Notre Dame police. He was carrying a cross and singing a hymn in honor of the mother of Jesus Christ ---"Our Lady" -- "Notre Dame."

What evil deed did they think he was going to do if they didn't arrest him: launch a devastatng, full-scale Rosary barrage?

It appears that this administration DOES support torture.

Let us not forget the Prayer of Pope John Paul II in his Encyclical Evangelium Vitae

See the thread:

ND Scandal and Pope John Paul II's forgotten Prayer

Here is the prayer with more emphasis -- maybe it can be printed out and distributed at Notre Dame or sent via the web...

O Mary Bright Dawn of the New World!

O Mary!
Bright dawn of the new world,
Mother of the living,
to you do we entrust the cause of life:

Look down, O Mother,
upon the vast numbers
of babies not allowed to be born,
of the poor whose lives are made difficult,
of men and women
who are victims of brutal violence,
of the elderly and the sick killed
by indifference or out of misguided mercy.

Grant that all who believe in your Son
may proclaim the Gospel of life
with honesty and love
to the people of our time.

Obtain for them the grace to accept
That Gospel as a gift ever new,
the joy of celebrating it with gratitude throughout their lives
and the courage to bear witness to it resolutely,
In order to build, together with all people of good will,
the civilization of truth and love,
to the praise and glory of God, the Creator and lover of life.

Pope John Paul II, March 25, 1995
From the Encyclical Evangelium Vitae
On the occasion of the Feast of the Annunication

I'm thinkin' by tomorrow there will be police dogs, rent-a-cops, FBI and homeland security. It's only been a few days since pro-lifers were removed from the HS extremist list.

Where are lightning bolts when you need one????? I'm just saying divine intervention would be nice for tomorrow.

The good father got arrest again today a few minutes ago.

Better if a number of bishops arrived there and got arrested. Harder to ignore.

I haven’t had time to read every post on this thread but has anyone considered that Notre Dame is a private institution, and as such has its own set of rules for, say, arranged protests? Violating these rules may result in arrest of those who participate in these protests.

That’s not to say that I agree with what happened. I think it’s terrible that an elderly priest was treated this way. But aren’t they those who violate the law going against what the local bishop said about protesting and politicizing the event?

The website:

ReplaceJenkins.com had the following totals:

On April 27, 2009: the website confirmed that Notre Dame lost $8.2 million in funding.

On May 13, 2009: the website confirmed that Notre Dame lost $13.2 million in funding...

This is a Catholic University. They are arresting a Catholic Priest...

I am not sure why they feel he is a "threat" to them...

It is not a "private institution", and it does receive funding from the Catholic Church (there is a collection every year for colleges)...

I HOPE a bunch of students walk out of their graduation when BHO is introduced. (in current environment, the local cops are probably ready to tase and SS will probably bar the exits.)

They have frozen the hits at Youtube at 792. Does anyone have any insight on Youtube’s ability to do that? Are they “spiking” the story?

***I wonder if Obama will have them cover up any signs of Jesus in the background.***

I’ve been wondering the same thing. Does anyone know just where at ND the graduation is held? There are almost 3,000 graduates and their guests. Perhaps they use the football field.

When the issue is the mass murder of innocent babies, how terrible is trespassing?

My gut tells me Randell Terry will be picked up tonight by the Secret Service.

He has promised that Obama will be interrupped during his speech.

Secret Service is not going to take a chance.

Something’s wrong if stepping on a campus triggers a trespass arrest. Do taxpayers fund Notre Dame???? This is homeland security directive to call it trespass. It’s also their policy to up the charges to incitement once this is all over.

But aren’t they those who violate the law going against what the local bishop said about protesting and politicizing the event?

What does that mean - "politicizing the event"? Actually, Obama is just a "bit player" here. The stand is aimed the administration of Notre Dame.
