Turn the corner on 145th Street in Jamaica, Queens, and it is as though a cyclone has wheeled through. One resident, Lakisha Brown, a hospital worker and mother of two, snatched her house back from foreclosure last month, if only temporarily. “We need to sell fast,” she says. “I’m just trying to save what’s left of my credit.” Across the street in this black middle-class neighborhood, Patrick Nicholas, a surgical technician in blue scrubs, shakes his dreadlocks and shrugs. He rents but is moving out. “The owner got foreclosed and told us to leave,” he says.
Six doors away, past two foreclosed and boarded-up homes, a burly man in a blue union jacket declines to give his name but his problem is evident. A foreclosure notice is pasted to the door of his house. His tone is mournful. “Tough times, man,” he says. “Tough, tough times.”

Of course they’re hit the hardest...because they are primarily in the housing industry related field...or the service industry which has been shrinking badly.
Neighborhood ethnic restaurants and specialty grocery stores are boarded up.

This is BS. There is no separate credit rating based on race. The problem is that the average black person of a given income level is much less responsible with credit than the average white person, and this shows up in individual credit scores. What race baiters have done is point to the difference in credit scores and allege that blacks are systematically being discriminated against on the basis of race. It's like looking at the racial breakdown of the NBA without looking at talent and skill levels and suggesting that huge number of blacks in basketball is due to systematic racial discrimination against non-blacks.
Gee, I wonder why. Could it be that ACORN pushed for them to be given mortgages when they weren't financially qualified?

A high crime area isn't desirable as a place to own a home. That also makes it an undesirable place for a mortgage lender to place money at risk on real estate in that undesirable place. The banks had that figured out, but they were accused of "redlining" and it was given a racial slant because the high crime area was occupied by "minorities". The leftist politicians forced the banks to cave when the race card was played...on pain of being prohibited from doing ANY business at all. The rest is history.

Well, all of the minorities who voted for Obama helped put him in the White House. Now they are realizing just what his policies mean for them. Talk about a rude awakening.
As far as I am concerned this could be a blessing in disguise for blacks and Hispanics. When it dawns on them that Barack Obama cares more about raising the standard of living in third world countries than he does about looking out for their interests it is going to hit the fan.
This may be enough to finally tear the black vote away from the Democratic Party. Hispanics have not voted the Democratic ticket blindly for nearly as long as blacks. Blacks have been the ace in the hole for the Democratic Party. Without them Obama is going to have a much harder time pushing his radical leftist policies on the nation.
The homosexual lobby is due for some serious flak too. Blacks never bought into the homosexual agenda, especially same sex marriage. Homosexuals comparing their so called civil rights with those of blacks has always been a sore point. You can bet that I will be stirring that pot when I talk to my friends. Hey! I have no problem saying “I told you so.”
