Vice President Joe Biden says that nearly $100 million in federal stimulus dollars will go to a program to remove lead-based paint from low-income homes.
Biden announced the plan Friday at a Los Angeles affordable-housing development operated by a community group that is getting $875,000 to remove toxic paint from 225 homes.

Joe Biden is the poster child for what can happen when you let your kids suck on the window sill in one them old Northeastern homes.
Simply painting over it and keeping your kids from eating the paint, fixes the problem...
...as the poster boy for affects of injesting lead paint.
Lead based paint has been outlawed since the 70’s.
Maybe most of that could go to keeping Joe from munching on the lead.
And where will the people live while this work is being done in their homes.
First class hotels?
Ummm....I seem to remember those stupid lead paint commercials from the 1970’s. I can’t believe that this “problem” still needs 100 million dollars thrown at it. If I remember correctly, the government was trying to fix the problem back then, too. Hmmmmmmm.
I’d like to see how much money goverments in the US have spent on “lead paint”.
Is this where we pass Go and collect $200?
What about the other houses, Joe? Stand up and be counted there, guy.
In China it hasn’t.
To late to poor Joe any good.
..well it's bout time some of them are finally repainted
My first though on reading this article: "Again?"
Wasn't enough money spent on removing lead paint the past thirty years?
"Lead based paint has been outlawed since the 70s."
And yes, Biden has got to be the stupidest man ever to be Vice President.
Is there ANY thing that these thugs won’t have us pay for?
Lead paint removal, you are right, is just another Eco-scam that has proved to be a magnet for money and the Big Scare psychology that Libs find oh, so easy to promote.
A few very young kids in the black ghetto somewhere got sick from nibbling on some flaky windowsills that hadn’t been painted for 25 years, so hereafter and in perpetuity
opportunists like Joe Biden see it as a golden chance to spread a little money from ALL taxpayers around to his FAVORITE NON-Taxpayers. Who will vote for him, to get more that money. Even worse was the “asbestos” scare, which needed in 90plus % of cases a little more imaginative way to deal with the problem, like coating it with shellac to keep the particles from blowing around.....instead in the early 80s dozens of “environmental construction engineer” types found a new business opportunity: they got to put on white spaceman suits, arrive in an austere van, put plastic over everything, and convince the customer that $5000 was not too much to pay for a healthy non-toxic future. I have been a contractor for 30 years, and both these things made me sicker than any of them made their victims “sick”.
The dregs of society who will be the recipients of the program should be more concerned about lead going thru their body at 2,000 feet per second.
this should really help odumbos 11pct unemployment numbers
Evidently not......
Gosh, that is so '70's. What's next, "urban renewal?"

Lead-Based Paint Ban
In 1978, the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission lowered the legal lead content in most paint to 0.06% (a trace amount). It banned paint or any other similar surface coating that containt more than 0.06% lead (lead containing paint). It also covers toys or other items intended for use by children and associated furniture.
