U.S. Attorney's office tells employees not to log on to Drudge Report

The U.S. Attorney’s Office in Massachusetts directed employees earlier this month not to log onto the Drudge Report website with government-issued computers due to potential viruses on the site.

In a message sent May 4, Paul Harvey of the Boston office wrote that security officials with the U.S. Attorney’s Office at the Department of Justice asked them “to reformat/reimage two computers because the user visited the drudgereport.com site.”

“Please avoid the Drudgereport website from the [United States Attorney’s Office] computers,” Harvey wrote.

There is a Trojan.Downloader.exe that is infecting computers. I got hit (not on Drudge, but on a professional web-site) a month ago. It got into my Windows registry and hijacked me to a proxy site. Then I got a bunch of fake Microsoft ads telling me I was infected and needed to buy their anti-virus program for 79.95.

I called an expert and spent $400 fixing the computer. He told me that a week earlier one of his clients said she thought everything was OK because she bought that software several times.

I now use Kaspersky, deactivated my Windows firewall, and dumped Norton. Everything works and the trojan horse was blocked last time I visited the infected site.

And now we know how the free Internet will fall.

The New Cabinet Office of Internet Security (Headed-up by the new Internet Security Czar) will close down sites with malicious code in order to secure the safety of the nation.

Of course whose to say the Office of Internet Security won't have a few hackers on staff to hack sites to load them with malicious code?

Possibly correct.

But the thing I see as the Baraqqis try and run the whole country is that they quickly become very bogged down in details. Not enough smarts/talent there to do it I believe.
Auto companies, healthcare, banks, internet, newspapers etc.
I think they will fall into a sinkhole.

I’m actually more optimistic about knocking off the Dems in 010 than I was 3 months ago.

I had iron clad security on all my computers BUT my daughter took a thumb drive to school to get some of her writing materials stored on her school computer which then infected all of our computers via our home network when she brought the thumb drive home.

luckily I had backed up All our most vital files a week before on a couple of external HDs which were not connected to the system at the time she infected our network with the thumb drive.

I did the re installs myself so it wasn't any real monetary cost just lots of lost man hours.

Political correctness running rampant in an office that’s supposed to be non-political.

I highly doubt it. I have never had any warnings from Drudge and I have 4 programs on my computer. Not even a tracking cookie. If it tried, it would pop up and tell me.

Maybe that’s why my computer crashed yesterday. It’s always a bad sign when the IT guy looks at your screen, turns around, and asks, “Is there anything important on your hard drive?”

I had the same thing last week, Norton popped up a message saying it had caught ands killed a virus. Then an hour later the IT guy came by, told me I had a virus, and took my pc to "wipe it." I wasn't sure why that was needed if Norton had stopped it. He said others had the same virus. I had been on Drudge and ESPN at lunch, as well as other sites.

Apparently the US Attorneys Office in Massachusetts exclusively use Microsoft operating systems.

How ironic after the battle for Open Source in the state.

Weird signals emanate from Drudge about Dem scandals and faux pas. No wonder the socialist pacifist Holder doesn’t want anyone in the Admin. to log onto Drudge.

I guess the US attorney’s office dosen’t consider it’s employees to be American citizens. Property of obama.
