The chairman of the US Joint Chiefs of Staff, Admiral Mike Mullen, has confirmed reports that Pakistan is increasing its nuclear weapons programme. The confirmation came during a Senate Armed Services committee hearing on Thursday when Democrat senator Jim Webb, an expert on defence issues, raised fears that Pakistan is adding to the nuclear weapons it traditionally has pointed toward India, and questioned whether US aid could be funding it.
Noting reports that Pakistan "may be actually adding on their weapon systems and warheads" Webb asked: "Do you have any evidence of that?" "Yes," Mullen answered. The US has urged Pakistan to focus on the extremist threat instead of India. Historically, they haven't done that, Mullen said. So right now, I'm encouraged by what's happened, but I certainly withhold any judgment about where it goes.
With Obama asleep at the terror wheel, it’s only a matter of time before a Muslim terrorist gets a hold of a Pakistani made nuke.
Why are we helping these mutts?
Unbelievable!
Isn’t it racism to think that the Taliban would use nukes???
Sssh, how much of the dollars(11Billion) sent by the USA since 911 contributed to the nukes.
LOL!
Don’t tell me they’ve convinced America they need nukes to fight the Talibs.
I feel better knowing I’m contributing to the “Help Pakistan Build Nukes Fund”.
Who would be surprised if we are someday nuked and discover we payed for it?
Hahaha, LOL, they never learn!
The next 9-11 will be a wee bit more flashy, and will have a ‘Made in Pakistan’ tag to it; not merely an ‘Assembled in Pakistan’ tag like the last one.
We’ll look back on 9/11 as a “quaint precursor” to the Terrorist Attack X that occurred due to the 0bama administration’s neglect of national defense.
We’ll look back only if we can remember... the Brad Pitt gossip above this article is getting more hits, here on FR...
“..only a matter of time before a Muslim terrorist gets a hold of a Pakistani made nuke.”
Then brings it to the US and explodes it and the American public will just roll over, yawn, and fall asleep again.
Pakistan keeps its nukes disassembled, meaning they keep the nuclear parts in one spot and the non-nuclear parts in another. For this reason Paki officials claim that PALs (permissive access links—multiple 6- or 12-digit codes required to access the nukes) are “unnecessary.”
The US has urged Pakistan to focus on the extremist threat instead of India. "Historically, they haven't done that," Mullen said. "So right now, I'm encouraged by what's happened, but I certainly withhold any judgment about where it goes."
Imagine if the head of Iraqi intelligence had been finger wiring a 100K to M. Atta.
We’d have so much info about him.....but, Mr. Ahmad was put under house arrest!
BTW, A. Rashid’s last book Descent into Chaos, details a “debunking” of Ahmad’s wire transfer as a plot to frame Pakistan. Sometimes if you read him, it’s like the Pakistani Military were hapless little waifs being led around like a bunch of cows with rings through their noses when it comes to their roles in the rise of jihad!
>>some comedy:
Guess you haven’t been keeping up with Nancy Pelosi, eh?
Gag! Triple Barf bagger.
I won’t make it thru the whole thing, don’t plan on drinking til later, and that’s just too much stone cold sober.
