Animal Legs for Humans
A Seattle designer has come up with the ultimate gadget for people who would like to be taller and more graceful - animal leg extensions.
Kim Graham's Digitigrade Leg Extensions add 14 inches of height to the wearer - and she claims a number of famously pint-sized actors and performers already have their names on the two-month waiting list.
The fine art sculptor says the steel extensions are much more than just stilts and insists: "They give a person the uncanny and graceful appearance of an animal."
They're made of steel, cable, foam, and rigid plastic - and, according to Ms Graham, take just 10 to 15 minutes to learn to walk in.
They apparently work well on level surfaces, although sharp inclines are difficult and stairs are downright risky.
The legs cost just £500 a pair - or £665 for spring loaded hooves for those requiring a little extra bounce.

I can’t disagree that some of them have a vision of utopia in which the Segway figures prominently. I don’t share anything remotely close to that view. It’s just nutty.

BTW: Have you seen the picture of Chinese cops practicing maneuvers on Segways while carrying assault rifles?
I think it was back when they were prepping for the Beijing Olympics.

I missed that. Next they’ll have the machine gun attachment installed for policing free speech like Tienimen (sp?) Square.

I wonder if it can lead to biomechanical problems like wear in the hip joint, bursitis, etc? I'm thinking lower back. It throws the center of gravity off forcing unnatural tilting of the upper body to maintain balance.
Any chiropractors out there?

That too. It really looks like a very unnatural and bad position.

MAN, as if the article I posted along with THAT photo wasn’t weird enough... Then you go and top it BIG-TIME with YOUR picture...!!! Not to mention how bizarrely apropos it is. I’ll be creeped out for days after seeing it. Kinda like a bad dream that just hangs on...

Sorry, just the first thing that came to my mind. But if you listen to the album from which that picture was taken, it’ll make it worthwhile. And I do have a T-shirt with that same art on it.
