Gingrich: Pelosi 'Lied,' 'Despicable,' 'Dishonest,' 'Vicious,' 'Trivial'
ABC ^ | May 15, 2009 | Elizabeth Turrell and Steven Portnoy

ABC News’ Rick Klein reports: Former House Speaker Newt Gingrich today offered a blistering critique of House Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s handling of oversight on harsh interrogation tactics, in a major escalation of partisan attacks being aimed at Pelosi.

In an interview with ABC News Radio’s Marcus Wilson, Gingrich, R-Ga., said Pelosi, D-Calif., “has lied to the House” in claiming that she was never briefed by the CIA about the Bush administration’s use of waterboarding and other harsh tactics.

"I think she has lied to the House, and I think that the House has an absolute obligation to open an inquiry, and I hope there will be a resolution to investigate her. And I think this is a big deal. I don't think the Speaker of the House can lie to the country on national security matters,” Gingrich said.

He continued: "I think this is the most despicable, dishonest and vicious political effort I've seen in my lifetime."

"She is a trivial politician, viciously using partisanship for the narrowist of purposes, and she dishonors the Congress by her behavior."

"Speaker Pelosi's the big loser, because she either comes across as incompetent, or dishonest. Those are the only two defenses,” Gingrich said. “The fact is she either didn't do her job, or she did do her job and she's now afraid to tell the truth.”

She thinks she’s still fighting Dick Cheney.

And she’s right!

Newt is mad because he sees what this hussy doing is worse than what he did and he had to resign.

I think the clip linked at #10 on this thread:

Nancy Pelosi draws fire over CIA claim

may be more complete....showing Nancy being more disjointed so to speak...

>>Nothing will come of this, the MSM and her libtard friends will cover for her.<<

She can’t escape this one.
She will have to fall on the sword for this and resign one way or another or she will be found guilty of some minor act of breaching ethics.

She should resign but that’s not going to happen. I really truly believe nothing will come of this. It’s all just talk and gum flapping. It’s will be a story for about another couple of weeks but that is as far as it goes.

I hope I am wrong

During WW II Pelosi’s grandmother was briefed about the development of the atomic bomb, but she had no idea it would be used to beat Japan. She thought it was just in case Japan did something really bad.

Pelosi and her fellow Socialists obviously think the public is very dumb. And they are right about that.

>> “The Clintons see an opportunity to get one of their rivals out of the way so they send out Leon Panetta, one of Hillary's lackeys, to pour some gasoline on the fire.”

Certainly, Panetta has no more actual knowledge of what the CIA told Pelosi in 2002 than any of us.

>> “2) The Clinton wing of the party and those in the media still loyal to them keep up the pressure until Pelosi is forced to resign.”

Another possibility: Pelosi’s base constituency is pure moonbat. If somehow, a recording of that briefing (with her asking if they couldn't be more harsh) were leaked, the CIA/war/bush/military HATING moonbats might start screeching for her head. It wouldn't even have to be a particularly good fake.

Moonbats are ruled by emotion, not rational thought.

>>Earth to Newt Earth to Newt...

Newsflash! Pelosi lies all the time as do most of the Commie Dems. Pelosi just got caught this time.<<

Your right, but this should be a great opportunity for serious republicans who are looking to gain our support to jump on her. Why is he the only one who is making such a serious attack now?

They all should be

Think about it this way.
1. it can not go away as long as the hard left keeps calling for Bush and Cheney to go down for it. Pelosi is just as guilty if not more because she is lying through her teeth right now and it shows.
2. She was going after the CIA and is now calling them liars. I think if there was one agency that any politician would not want after them it is one that knows how to manipulate public opinion.
3. Even her own people are beginning to distance themselves from her statements and slightly contradicting her.
4. The more she talks the deeper a hole she digs herself.

She will never in a million years be voted out of office by her districts because of the support she gives them. But *IF* the republicans can finally get their collective a$$es together and pile on her. They can make her a sacrificial lamb that 1/2 the country will get behind to punish the one.
(yes it is a big *if*)

But I think this is not going to go away. Especially if Obama’s remarks about the CIA have gotten under spooks skins.
Then they will go after him and he will toss her under the Obama bus in a New York Minute to save himself.

Yes they will, but if all the Republicans spoke as forthrightly as Newt did, the Democrats wouldn't get away with EVERYTHING. Some of the truth would seep into the public consciousness, My Friend™.

My feeling exactly!

The hag was foolish on picking a fight with the CIA. Regarding the contest on the most flip flops, she surely is gaining on Hanoi John in a short period of time. But as mentioned by a few on this subject in various postings, if the L/MSM let her get away with it, it will just fade away. They have minimized the questions posed to her with no rebuffs. She figures she will get away with it. But things will surface out of nowhere regarding her private life/dealings etc..
Her own multiple versions show she is totally stupid in saying the CIA lied to her.

Just our luck, she’ll announce she is retiring from the house and now decides to run for govenor of CA.

Better that she become the Governor of CA than remaining the third in line for President.

In any case, my condolences to Californians if that ever happens.

Prison would be the best possible outcome. Special committee, catch her in her web of lies under oath, throw her in the clink.

I can dream, can't I?
